Four #pencil #portraits of my fellow artists at our weekly draw club. Our model had skipped, so we had to act as one ourselves.

These are the 15 minute poses. It's an extra challenge to #draw people you know. One wants to get the likeness and character right. That's easier to let go with strangers.

[03:20 PM] Six injured, one critically, in major apartment fire in Landsmeer

One person was critically hurt, and five others suffered minor injuries after a large fire broke out Monday morning in a home above a thrift store on Dorpsstraat in Landsmeer.

I tried an “extra rough” #watercolor paper (from the local brand Schut) for this portrait.

The surface has an unusual structure, which makes it hard to control the colors, but helps to keep the image lively. And stops me from over-detailing :blobfoxgiggle:

Which also allowed me to leave the background white. I want to try this more ... but it's always tough to hold back 😅

#nieuwsuur #Landsmeer BBB wil in het groen bouwen maar niet op landbouw grond.

#nieuwsuur #Landsmeer lijkt best meer hoogbouw kunnen bouwen. Dat hebben ze niet zo veel.

I'm having a joint exhibition this weekend in #Landsmeer (a village next to #Amsterdam).

Here's the info - plus interview and newspaper article.

Turning a blazing present
To echoed whispers

A #willow I stood under last summer. Just got around finishing/varnishing and scanning.

Another portrait from local people in #Landsmeer (a village next to #Amsterdam). Done with #ink and #watercolor.

For now I'll post these pics here and as well on my PixelFed art account. Seems like the best tactic currently.

The PixelFed account works now after some hiccups. Getting used to it :)

I'm trying to share a status from pixelFed, but I can't see it from Mastodon. I was hoping to make an art-focused account and then forward posts here.

My first post! My proper introduction will follow once I figured Pixelfed out a bit more. Any tips are welcome!

Here's a #portrait made with #ink and #watercolor, which starts a series. It'll be normal people of #Landsmeer, a town next to #Amsterdam, in the #Netherlands.

Hi! It's #introduction time:
Many moons ago I started as game-#artist, but transitioned to painting. So I love combos of tech and traditional media.

Last year, I settled next to #Amsterdam, in #Landsmeer, and hope to create a lot in my new studio. Fantastic to finally have a non-corporate network for sharing artworks!
To keep them in context of my interests, surroundings and opinions, I stuck to a general instance rather than mastodon.art.

Here's a #SelfPortrait.
