Another grab shot through the lounge window. Only the last 3 years that I’ve found #Latham’s #Snipe staying here a couple of months or so each year & this the closest one’s been to the house. This guy’s a solitary resident, afaik, & rated #vulnerable

I put the spare #CameraTrapping #TrailCamera onto the potting shed near the house, as I has suspicions that 'someone' was using the area underneath. The 'someone' was/were 2 #Endangered Eastern Quolls, 1 being the beautiful dark morph.

After waiting 10 yrs since planting for our 50 Blue & Black gum trees to have their 1st flowering, Spring ‘25 they finally did.
And today I sighted the 1st 2 Swift parrots (critically endangered) to feed on those trees.
Well worth the wait!
We’ve had occasional visits to random trees in the past, but we planted those seedlings specifically for any Swift parrots that came foraging. They face massive threats to survival from forestry destroying their habitat, to Sugar Gliders eating the adult females.

@alina Do you have non-profits, landcare groups, trusts for Nature Conservancy or environmental organisations who can help?
Australia has a few. Some will help you manage it, sell it for you, etc.

CW: Creatures I saw in the bush last night. #frog #moth #melomys
#CaneToads are an invasive species in Australia. We take them out of the environment on a regular basis. They are ethically and humanely euthanised. Their bodies go to create a bait to remove their toadpoles from watersources.
Last nights adventure included a male Koala bellowing, Boobook Owl, geckos, FrogID recordings and frog sightings and about 90 Toads removed. Count for this property is now about 450. #biodiversity #landforwildlife
