  6. Hype for the Future 120I: Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

Introduction Within the County of Lancaster in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, along the Maryland state line, is the largest Amish community in the United States of America, particularly in the rural areas of the vicinity of the City of Lancaster. Though Hispanics have recently overtaken the Amish population, many of the Hispanic residents are located in more urbanized settings within the area near the southeastern corner of the Commonwealth and Philadelphia. 7. #FotoVorschlag “Produktfoto” / Product photo

A variety of #Amish dolls, mugs, and other items at Lancaster Central Market. The mugs that read “I Love Intercourse” are referring, naturally, to the town of Intercourse, Pennsylvania (just a few miles away from the town of Blue Ball.) Why, what were you thinking?

  8. For #Doorsday: A door at the bottom of some stone stairs at Ephrata Cloister, from my visit to Lancaster County, PA. Jonathan Groff made a promotional video for this place (he has roots in the area), so, being fans of Groff and theater, we had to go. It’s a lovely, tranquil place with some fascinating history, and I recommend taking the guided tour if you’re ever there.

I mentioned about traditionally “conservative” folx in my county (#Lancaster) moving towards Harris because, to be blunt, Trump doesn’t actually represent their values. Here’s a good article on it, from a farming couple in the village where I grew up.

Also been weird hearing so much so much about my town in the National news.

  13. @scottdavidherr Ah, if your Herr's came direct from Germany that late, then there's likely no close connection. However, you're right that anything Herr's or Hershey's in Lancaster is some sort of relation to my ancestry.

It's so funny how human connections play out!
