After searched Ikea again and again for ideas, I realized you can make your own lampshade with paper. So two A4 paper turned into a new lampshade to replace the old broken one.

Paraphrasing something a potential (not anymore) client just told me:
- them: "I really like your approach, we would really benefit going that way. And it would probably improve everyone satisfaction"
- me: "That's the plan :)"
- them: "But we're gonna keep doing things the way we have always done"
- me; "And keep everyone miserable?"

Does anyone reading this know much about home #lighting ? I have a torchiere floor lamp that's... I don't know, ten or so years old. Bought it for cheap at Home Depot or Target or Bed & Bath. The shade bowl thing is plastic, and over time the plastic got brittle and broke yesterday.

Not a lot of plastic shades this size available. Glass shades that fit cost as much as the lamp itself. Lamp uses two LED bulbs. Can I repair the #lampshade with anything? I don't have a 3D printer.

The first stuff I screen printed was onto linen (yes I don't know why I made things extra hard for myself). We made lampshades, cushions and tea towels.

And the first "range" I made (because I thought I had to make ranges) was called Cover Story. It was a design featuring trees, blowing leaves and a badger.

Here's a lampshade I printed in three colours as part of the Cover Story range.

I pulled this #lampshade out of my neighbor's trash pile. Frame of this size & style can run $50-$75. I removed the old nasty beige fabric, which was thin & glued to dry rotted plastic. I cleaned the wire & soldered a break. Wrapped it in red bias tape, which I used to sew through.

Yes. No glue. All hand sewn.😂

I need to wire up a light socket for it. I already have some #vintage -style black cloth-covered twisted wire.

All I bought for this was the trim.

So, I don't own anything older than a G4. But I think for #Marchintosh I'm going to attempt to get Basilisk II installed on the G4 and then install System 7 from physical media. Just checked all of the disks and they all appear good in OS X.

The iMac backlight is still out, so I'm using an external display.
