Aujourd'hui c'est Lugnasad, la derniere fête païenne de l'année celte. Fête royale, elle s'est transformée en fête communautaire dans les pâtures montagneuse, au pied des sources ou des pierres dressées dans l'Irlande traditionnelle.

Une fête lumineuse, centrée sur l'abondance et le partage.

Seeing mentions of #LammasDay always seems curious to a Finn as in Finnish “lammas” means sheep. Confusingly the other lammas refers to a loaf of bread instead, although I seem to recall sheep are also somehow connected to the celebration… Anyways, I had to check that the Finnish “lammas” and the English “lamb” do share the same Germanic origin.

Now wondering where Tolkien’s lembas originates.
