I've heard enough bands similar to #Khruangbin that I *really* wish there'd be a name for it by now. For example there's #BALTHVS, #GlassBeams, #Gitkin, #LaLom etc. I think it's reductive to compare them all to Khruangbin, but it might be a little dangerous to invent a genre because it'll likely suck in distinct music like chicha, tuareg, etc. In a way it's true "world" or "fusion" music in that they combine influences from around the globe into something without a national identity.
