Aug 3 at 6:00 PM EDTAn evacuation order has been requested for Zone CLE-E123 and an evacuation warning has been requested for Zone CLE-E113, per Incident Command. The Zones are visible on the Watch Duty map or on Genasys Protect.
The fire is approximately 10-15 acres with a moderate to rapid rate of spread and is now moving down slope towards Pond Lane, per Incident Command.
A request has been made for 2 additional air tankers, per Air Attack.

Update from CAL FIRE BDU on Facebook:The Lake Fire has burned approximately 478 acres with no containment at this time. The incident is in Unified Command with the USFS: San Bernardino National Forest, CAL FIRE San Bernardino Unit, San Bernardino County Fire, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Fire crews are continuing to work through the night to build containment lines and protect nearby communities. Weather conditions remain a challenge, with gusty south winds (15–25 mph) and low humidity expected to persist into the evening. Conditions are forecast to improve overnight, but winds are expected to increase again Sunday afternoon.
Evacuation Orders remain in effect south of Highway 138 between Interstate 15 and Highway 173.
Evacuation Warnings are in effect North of Highway 138 and Highway 173, from Summit Valley Road to Arrowhead Lake Road.
Please follow all evacuation orders and stay clear of the area for your safety and the safety of emergency personnel.

Evacuations are underway for the recreational areas of Silverwood Lake.
Those in the area are asked to avoid Highway 173 and Highway 138. The fire is burning on both sides of Highway 138.

Random wildfire note: lots of out of state resources on the #ApacheFire in Ventura County last night, and I figured out why: these are units that were nearby who had just been released from the #LakeFire in Santa Barbara County. Lots of out-of-state firefighters are working on that fire given its large size.

The fire continues to be more active in the Davey Brown area, Ranger Peak and Goat Rock areas.
The fire is moving as planned to the established control lines,
with crews focusing on any spot fires escaping those lines.
Ground crews continue to work with various aircraft as needed to assist with suppression tactics.South Zone Fire Activity:
Firefighters continue to make good progress mopping up hot spots and strengthening control lines on the Lake Fire.
Firefighters have conducted firing operations to create a buffer zone in areas of the fire,
and they continue to strengthen control lines, identifying and extinguishing any remaining hot spots within the fire perimeter.
Today, crews continue to actively fight fire while working on strengthening containment and control lines.Forecast for Saturday:
A 10-20% chance of mainly dry thunderstorms through the day capable of producing lightning strikes along with gusty outflow winds.
Otherwise partly cloudy skies and slightly cooler with highs in the upper 80s to upper 90s.
General winds Southwest 6-12 mph with gusts 20-25 mph

California wildfires have burned five times the average this year, officials say
California’s wildfire season is off to a ferocious start,
with the state’s top wildfire official saying that fires have already burned through five times the average amount of land for this time of year.Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Joe Tyler, the director of the California department of forestry and fire protection (Cal Fire), said the state has responded to more than 3,500 wildfires so far this year.
Together, those fires have scorched nearly 220,000 acres
– more than fives times above what is typical for mid-July, which is considered fairly early in the state’s wildfire season.“We are not just in a fire season, we are in a fire year,” Tyler said at the news conference.
“Our winds and the recent heatwave have exacerbated the issue, consuming thousands of acres.
So we need to be extra cautious.”Authorities across the US west have warned of the rising risk of wildfires amid a protracted heatwave that has dried out the landscape and smashed temperatures records from California to Oregon to Nevada.

including a stubborn 34,000-acre blaze known as the #LakeFire, which prompted evacuation orders for about 200 homes in the mountains of Santa Barbara county, north-west of Los Angeles.In Oregon on Thursday, crews were battling the #LarchCreekFire, which has grown to more than 11,000 acres since Tuesday.
Lower temperatures and calming winds were helping the crews’ efforts, but the local fire danger level remained extreme. One firefighter was treated for heat-related injuries.In Hawaii, Haleakala national park on Maui was closed as firefighters battled a blaze on the slopes of a mountain.
