A teenager fell into Lake Ontario recently. Thankfully, he was rescued quickly and is okay.

Just because some parts of the lake were or are frozen over doesn’t mean it’s safe to walk on them, especially now that we’ve had multiple days above 0 C.

I think we should have some signs up telling people this. Not everyone grows up learning about such things and how dangerous they can be.

I was at the Scarborough Bluffs beach today. The entire 1-km-long 100-meter-wide beach is covered with cabbage-sized frozen snowballs. Must have happened during the snowstorm. For #ThickTrunkTuesday I offer two pictures of an impressive #WeepingWillow tree I discovered near Bronte Harbor in Oakville #Canada on #LakeOntario. I particularly like the scientific name of this species, Salix babylonica. The species name reportedly has to do with the hanging gardens. These pictures were taken in October of 2024.
