Today, at our #LaidiPalace studio, we had guests from Kuldiga highschool. The visit was a part of our ongoing #LatvijasSkolasSoma project. As usual, we had a short lecture about #immersiveaudio history, acousmatic music mixtape (fragmenta from pieces made during 2025 residency year) and, in the end, colective improvised jam. I did set up four stations with contact and radio microphones + toy instruments + midi controler to tweak IEM granular synth. Simple, but efektive for newcomers.

The DDA and #LaidiPalace Immersive music and performance open call 2026 is closed. Thank you to everybody who have applied! We have received 11 team and several individual applications, in total from around 60 sound and performance artists. We will announce the results in nearest weeks. In total this year we will can host 7 teams (35-37 artists). 🐝🌐

We have kickstarted the DDA #immersive music residency 2025 program. The first team - Toms Ceļmillers (LV), Rostislavs Rekuta (LV), Maksims Šenteļevs (LV), John Grzinich (EE) and Ieva Matveja (LV) have started working in the ambisonic studio/dome and exploring the surroundings of #LaidiPalace.

While open call is pending, here's few photos from recent jam session at DDA #ambisonics studio, #LaidiPalace Residency. We had a guest -- sounds artist Paula Vītola visiting residency for few days. Paula connected her light sensor sound devices (an audiovisual synthesizer that directly transforms stroboscopic light and moving shadows into a sound signal. via https://shapeplatform.eu/artist/paula-vitola/) to our 17+2 speaker sound system. Together we had a very nice jam and evening in genera.
