Whey, weirdly enough for a protein source, contains a bunch of lactose. And my severely lactose intolerant kiddo's (have two now, the teenager just decided to become lactose intolerant this summer) will not be able to eat it.

New: the 'shops' and 'food' in #MapComplete now have a few more diet-options. One can now mark if they have a #sugarfree #glutenfree and #lactosefree assortment - important for people with #diabetes, #lactoseIntolerance or #glutenIntolerance and want to get some #GlutenFreeBaking
Additionally, one can #filter for those properties to only show shops having such food, but there is very little information about this yet! So, go out and map!

I grew up hating milk, and being forced to drink it anyway. I still to this day can't just drink a glass of milk. I mostly avoid ice cream as well.
Interestingly, I can tolerate aged cheeses, and most cooked foods, that contain milk. I've always assumed that enough lactose is denatured by those processes to get by my "defenses".

I have IBS. It's triggered by many things. Due to the reaction I have to drinking non-lactase milk, I'm likely also lactose intolerant. I only ever use milk to wet cereal.
This morning I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast. The only milk in the house is regular (non-lactase) milk. That's okay, I'm only using it for cereal, right? Oh my, was I wrong. I've visited the restroom a half dozen times already as a result. 🤷♀️

Handmade from scratch, natch. And when Mom is gone, we traditionally do pizza bar for some reason
There's also a #sleepover with someone who is looking forward to pizza but "doesn't like cheese". (I assume this is code for #LactoseIntolerance)
I gotta think of a show/movie that will out-interest the kids in #Animaniacs. The "original" As are incredibly unfunny and even the kids just sit not laughing. Ages 15-22.

One of the books - Cooper’s Crutches - is about crutches (and mobility or assistive devices).
The other book, Chloe’s Cookies, is about lactose intolerance and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI/PEI).

Judging by the mild to moderate gastrointestinal horror that just occurred I would venture that my lactase tablets have denatured in the heat.
