New plans could allow 100ft wind turbines at schools and farms. This is much taller than current rules for homes, which limit turbines to 15ft on buildings.

Labour's approach to immigration seems reactionary, aiming to outflank Reform UK. But in doing so, is it losing its progressive identity?

Migrant scapegoating. Empty slogans. “British values” tests. If Starmer’s so tough on immigration, why won’t he tax the rich hiring undocumented workers? Oh, right—that would upset his donors. This is what happens when a party runs out of courage. Labour’s drift isn’t just uninspiring—it’s dangerous. #Hypocrisy #CitizenshipDebate #LabourPolicy #DisabilityCuts #ReformMomentum https://www.ft.com/content/f844df48-09a3-47bf-b467-a2cb5bc9a307

Labour's means-testing of the Winter Fuel Payment has left millions of pensioners out in the cold—literally. Cutting support for the vulnerable isn't just bad policy; it's bad politics. Time to rethink. #WinterFuelCrisis #LabourPolicy

Labour's decision to cut Winter Fuel Payments for pensioners has backfired, contributing to their local election losses. Now, they're considering a U-turn. Was this policy misstep avoidable? #WinterFuelPayment #LabourPolicy https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2025/may/06/winter-fuel-payments-labour-keir-starmer-wes-streeting-kemi-badenoch-latest-live-news

Labour risks losing the plot on #WorkingFromHome. Instead of addressing real challenges—like inequality & productivity—they're playing into divisive culture wars. Pandering to right-wing rhetoric won’t modernise work or win over progressive voters. #WFH #LabourPolicy https://buff.ly/4gRvRxX

This is quite unclear, but it looks like #Labour have rowed back yet again on their environmental policy for domestic homes. No ban on gas boilers, and no mandate for solar panels and/or batteries.
It will be interesting, and almost inevitably disappointing, to see what the final "Future Homes Standard" will turn out to be. However, it's clear that the only party that has anything meaningful to say on the environment, rather than just hot air and empty promises, is the #GreenParty.
