This is a minor #poem for biological family members. The date of the poem is October 01, 2025.

The illustration is GenAI. It's surprisingly close to Jim and Grace Kiraly IRL in some respects. However, they were never this cheerful. Note: I was able to draw unaided until events in the 1970s but not so much since then.

"Ken" is Ken Kiraly, the lead designer of the Kindle and retired Vice President of #Amazon #Lab126. He and his wife Virginia Chang Kiraly, a minor political figure, reside as of last review in Menlo Park, California. If Grace Kiraly and her husband Jim are living, they reside in Solvang's Atterdag Village community or in the associated hospice.

The point isn't grim
It's the birthday of Grace
Even if the Reaper won the race
It can't go unobserved
Best wishes are deserved

Happy Birthday to the harpy bold

Whether she's a zombie or playing a harp
Grace was always sharp
She knew it was best to lie to herself
The lie was required for health
You'll agree that health is wealth
Wealth is what matters
Even if the truth is in tatters

I think that Ken remembers Shatterday
Shatterday is every day
If a life is made of lies
Even if the truth is no surprise
One agrees not to look
Even if the truth is an open book

But the open book is here
Grace is a thinker without peer
If she's still in the show
I'd like her to know
The show will go on
Time is like winter snow on summer lawn
It's gone but not forgotten
The truth isn't verbotten

It's good to embrace the light
That which is right shines quite bright
I'm now what I am
I like Green Eggs and Ham
I've evolved in other ways
The truth will have its days

Grace here or Grace did departs

What's true of hers is true of hims

If Jims has wandered off in the mist
to the undiscovered country, the gist
is that there's more to be said
The point doesn't need to be spoon-fed

Ken, as a footnote
The news wins the happy vote
I'm told that you've retired
This is to be admired
Perhaps you'll find things to do
Let dancing and singing ensue

Dance all day
