If it’s good enough for Larry Niven’s Kzinti in Star Trek the animated series (in Niven’s own adaptation of his short story ‘The Soft Weapon’) then any author should be proud to have their antagonists in pink spacesuits in their mauve spaceships. :packetcat_wink:

Coda on upright #Kzinti!
Turns out that in terms of broadcast date, the first time we see a Kzin in #StarTrekTAS is S1E12 ‘The Time Trap’ - with upright posture!
A red-furred Kzin is shown at the meeting table. A production preparatory drawing clearly labels the figure as Kzinti (reprinted in Harvey and Schepis’ Official Guide to the Animated Series).

In this case, the #Vedala appeared in ‘The Jihad’ many episodes ahead of the Kzinti’s appearance in ‘The Slaver Weapon.’
It seems we can attribute the hunched Kzinti to their lemur-like Vedala animated predecessors out-of-universe.
In-universe, my headcanon is that the #Kzinti (like their #Caitian cousins) were always upright but affected a hunched posture to emulate the Vedala.
