    Yes! 🥳

    The takeover of the company behind #DigiD (#Solvinity) by the #US firm #Kyndryl has been forbidden by the #Dutch Economic Affairs. This has been done "to protect the public interest" [against US data grab].

    Solvinity is a cloud company that stores the data used by DigiD. DigiD provides functionality for Dutch citizens to exchange data with, for example, the #tax authorities, health #insurers and #pension funds.

    Op 9 juli 2025 liet Donald Trump financiële sancties instellen tegen de special #UN rapporteur over de oPt (Occupied Palestinian Territories) Francesca Albanese (ofac.treasury.gov/recent-actio).

    De oproep van de UN, één dag later (news.un.org/en/story/2025/07/1), mocht niet baten.

    Afgelopen woensdag heeft een federale rechter in de #USA geoordeeld dat de opgelegde sancties niet rechtsgeldig zijn, waarmee deze voorlopig zijn opgeschort (ofac.treasury.gov/sanctions-pr). Dat wil vast niet zeggen dat mevrouw Albanese snel weer een werkende bankpas heeft.

    Of Trump in beroep kan gaan bij #SCOTUS (het US hooggerechtshof, met daarin veel door Trump aangestelde rechters), weet ik niet.

    De USA, een aan genocide medeplichtige "bondgenoot" van Nederland: "echt" een "fijn" land om DigiD en andere essentiële ICT-systemen aan toe te vertrouwen.
