Train travel from #kyleoflochalsh is going well so far. I’m about to arrive at #Glasgow. I considered spending the night somewhere between Glasgow and London but figured out it would be more relaxing to push to London today (arrival around midnight) and have a leisurely morning plus breakfast. A bus 🚌 drove me to the Scottish mainland at #KyleofLochalsh. Boy, I really don’t like long-distance buses. Happy to be back on the train 🚊 and looking forward to the scenic leg to #inverness! The train has a cozy two carriages. #Interrail #Scotland

Day 7 #Scotland #OuterHebrides trip. As much as I like trains, they don’t go everywhere so sometimes I do need to take a bus…. From #Uig #Skye to #KyleofLochalsh. #Uig feels like an outpost town, with a mini shop at the petrol station, a cafe and a tea room.

A deep purple-grey mushroom, found near Kyle. Possibly a violet webcap? Possibly not. I know little about fungi and this is as far as searching "purple mushroom Scotland " has got me.... 🙂 Stood about 10 to 12cm high if anyone can offer an opinion... all I can say for certain is that I've never taken a photo of one before 🤷‍♂️🙂
