Smoke Ring For My Halo
2011 U.S. pressingA great album for a Saturday afternoon, and one of my favorite records of the past 20 years.
This is also one of the great all-time listens for the Autumn season.
This and Wakin On A Pretty Daze is a hell of a back to back 1-2 punch.
I’ll also say that Vile has himself a GREAT band here in The Violators.
On a personal note, I went on a long road trip from Seattle to Boston with some friends of mine shortly after this came out. It was Autumn then too, and this got played a bunch over those 7-8 days.
One of my favorite albums of adulthood. I know it’s common for people to constantly look back on the music from their adolescence and that’s what they tend to latch onto the most through life, but it’s great when you can find music like that in your 30s and 40s and beyond.
