I've been here for almost a year and I feel at home, it's time for an updated #introduction. (Po polsku poniżej)

Professionally interested in IT, personally in public transport, particularly railways these days, and a bunch of other things you won't hear from me about here :)

Being here inspired me to explore railway timetables (#EffectivePaxRailNet) and the art of the #Kursbuch. You may also have heard of me through the story of #Mevo or the news about Polish rail I post in English. Jestem tu od prawie roku i czuję się jak w domu, czas przedstawić się jeszcze raz.

Interesuję się zawodowo informatyką, a osobiście transportem publicznym, ostatnio szczególnie pociągami, a także masą innych rzeczy, o których tu nie przeczytacie :)

Przebywanie tutaj zainspirowało mnie do głębszego przeglądania rozkładów jazdy (#EffectivePaxRailNet) i obserwacji sztuki projektowania i redakcji "cegieł" SRJP. Mogliście dowiedzieć się o mnie dzięki wątkowi o historii #Mevo, bądź z niusów o zmianach na kolei w Polsce, które podaję dalej (raczej) po angielsku. Zachęcam do spojrzenia na kartę Wyróżnione i przypięte wpisy, tak najłatwiej dobić się do mojego oryginalnego kontentu, że tak powiem

Bezpieczeństwo i prywatność opierają się na sobie nawzajem, więc staram się utrzymać to konto w pewnej konkretnej niszy tematycznej i nie publikuję sprawozdań ze swoich podróży ;)

Once again, a companion thread to @jon's #CrossBorderRail journeys - this time, an exhibition about Romanian Kursbücher!

…Well, it's a bit late, it turned out it took 3~4 evenings to write… I spent way, way too much time on this

On the way from Beclean to Suceava last week, Jon inspired me to do some research and while information about Romania's railway history is apparently scarce online, timetables are an exception - thanks to the efforts of one Marius Ionescu (who appears to be active on VagonWeb, too), Timetable World has a great collection of CFR paper timetables available for online viewing! And it turns out there's a lot of interesting and cute things I'd like to showcase in there.

(This thread was originally going to include screenshots until I realized the potential copyright implications. It was then going to include links to the particular pages until I realized the potential privacy implications (since I have to generate them and they only contain a UUID that tells the server to look something up, well…). So, mostly text and links to individual timetable books are going to have to do. (I mean, I know that's not a super-ultra great guarantee either, but I am still complelled to at least try))

Wenn die #Personenverkehr-Sparte der #DeutscheBahn eine #Genossenschaft wäre, dann gäbe es ein #Kursbuch als #PrintOnDemand, als #PDF und vielleicht sogar in einer benutzbaren (!) und vollständigen (!) Online-Version.
