  1. I painted this month's miniature of the month and tried letting him wade through some bloody water.

A friend said he looks like he just ate a lot of Drukhari and I have to agree. That's a very Dark Eldar colour scheme!

  2. Final set of photos of the flying kroot conversion.

While the outer feathers are painted with reference to your average bird, I painted the inside of the wings a bright yellow so they could use it to dazzle the enemy or maybe even a mate.

  3. And yes, I bought the new #Kroot army box. Because I clearly need yet another painting project.

  4. More photos of the flying Kroot.

Each layer of feathers were sculpted separately, starting at the lower edge and then overlapping the next.

  5. New #Warhammer models revealed at #LVO24. My highlights: a #Kroot good boi, new #Harlequins, and the Solar Auxilia. The Mandrakes are also nice, I guess:

  6. The #RumourEngine for 26th September 2023.

If that isn't a big Kroot gun, mounted on the back of a bigger Kroot beasty, you can call me names for 3 days.

  7. More angles of the flying Kroot.

To avoid a flying stand there is a wire hidden in the plant and curved in a way to make it less obvious.

  8. Two more angles of my first Kroot warrior.

For the lump of meat they carry I wanted to bring a little interest to the model. So rather than plain "flesh" colour, I went with an exotic alien look to the skin, but kept the realism with "normal" bone and "meat" colours.

  9. Flying Kroot.

    For my personal army/collection.

From my understanding, Kroot can take on the attributes of what they eat.
Therefore if you feed one enough winged food, it should gain wings...

Also, if a Kroot's arms were wings, how would it hold a rifle?

    This is my answer.

Feathers were sculpted from epoxy putty.
Feet were cut off and a rifle with the hands conveniently spaced, was attached with minimal alterations to the legs.

  10. Kroot warrior #1.

The first Kroot for my personal army/collection.

No modifications or exciting paint schemes as with all my "1st" of each faction.

But I am quite pleased with the "meal" they are carrying.

  11. I’ve wanted to run a gang of #Kroot for ages, but the old kit was just too samey. The #KillTeam is really lovely, I’m gonna write a homebrew gang list for #Necromunda of Kroot mercenaries that managed to slip out of The Stranger and ply their trade downhive.

Working on a gene-smithing system to represent the Kroot’s genetic adaptation, wargear list etc. Will release it once I get it done!
