  1. I've just finished reading The Women, by Kristin Hannah, and wow... what an amazing, powerful book. I knew nothing about the veterans of the Vietnam war and I'm so glad I read it.

  4. January's reading wrap-up, courtesy of #StoryGraph! Strange Beasts is definitely a must read, and I'm really happy I picked up this series from Beverly Jenkins.

  5. Tuli mieleen että voiko satakieli laulaa kun pääsin kirjassa puoliväliin. Melkoinen tarina siitä miten jotkut uskalsivat vastustaa natseja.

  6. Book review # 24 for 2024 is Kristin Hannah's The Women. Wow! This was my first Hannah read! Wow! Powerful and a very, very, strong reminder of what Vietnam did to people, including women who served, in that terrible conflict. A strong character driven novel. ☕☕☕☕ review. @books @[email protected] @[email protected] #historicalfiction #vietnam, #books #BooksWorthReading #kristinhannah

  7. @KenWalkerQB That didn't take too long. Lol. Great book.
I just finished my 3rd #KristinHannah book since Christmas. All very good: THE GREAT ALONE, THE NIGHT ROAD, and THE FOUR WINDS.

All wonderful. They are all survival books with people who learn their strength, in varied ways.

  8. I just finished #TheNightingale by #KristinHannah. It tells the story of heroism, much of it female, in occupied #France in #WWII. An excellent book. #bookstodon en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Nigh

It told me stories of what France suffered in #WW2 that I had never imagined.

  9. I’m still reading The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. I love her writing, here’s a great example:
“Alaska was full of fringe-ists. People who believed in weirdo things and prayed to exclusionary Gods and filled their basements with equal measures of guns and Bibles. If you wanted to live in a place where no one told you what to do and didn’t care if you parked a trailer in your yard or had a fridge on your porch, Alaska was the state for you.”
