  1. In 2026, artificial intelligence has become the primary instrument of censorship and surveillance. This is not a future prediction. It is the present reality.

Meta has deployed new AI moderation systems that systematically fail to understand context, language nuance, and cultural difference. Legitimate political discourse is removed as hate speech. Genuine threats remain undetected. Satire is flagged as dangerous content. The system is not protecting users. It is enforcing algorithmic censorship.

Simultaneously, the US Congress is advancing KOSA, the Kids Online Safety Act. Under the banner of child protection, this bill effectively ends anonymity online. Age verification mandates tie every comment, every post, every discussion to a verified identity.

    The implications are severe:

Governments gain full access to citizens' online activity

Self-censorship becomes the default mode of communication

Political opposition becomes trackable and suppressible

Corporations expand their data extraction capabilities

When every word is tied to your real identity, you stop speaking freely. That is precisely the objective.

Meta has also patented AI systems that allow deceased users to continue posting. Digital corpses repurposed for corporate objectives. The ethical implications alone should trigger global debate. Instead, these technologies are being deployed without public discussion.

The only meaningful resistance is decentralization. Encrypted platforms. User-controlled infrastructure. Digital rights legislation that protects anonymity as a fundamental freedom.

This is not about technology. It is about whether free thought remains possible.

  8. Call me pessimistic, but I think we just have to make peace with the fact that the internet we've known for the past 30 years is coming to an end and we're entering a full on fascist surveillance state.

We should make our preparations for this now and not right before the legislation takes effect.

I'd like for things to work out and these bills either fail to pass or get struck down in court but I feel that ain't going to happen. So many people will get hurt because of this.

  13. Well, looks like we can't rely on Ted Cruz stonewalling bills anymore. They want to proceed with the Kids Online Safety Act, Children and Teens' Online Privacy Protection Act, and Kids Off Social Media Act (at minimum). Cruz wants to advance these bills "within the next six weeks" (i.e. factoring in recesses, it will either be the week of April 13th or the week of April 20th). I have no idea if Cruz is siding with the Senate version or the House version of KOSA as last I checked, he was on the fence (there will clearly be negotiation/butting heads as the two versions differ drastically).

This has a greater chance of proceeding as scheduled as Cruz is the chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee. Though it could be delayed if the previous two calls for votes are anything to go by (Blumenthal wanted a vote on KOSA by late 2025 and Graham wanted a vote on various bills back in February).

Please call your Senators and Representatives ASAP!

  18. Hey don't forget to check out my latest blog post where I talk about some of the new "online safety" bills being introduced in 2026. I know these are **framed** as being created to protect children, but I can almost guarantee that all they will do is break your encryption, destroy your privacy, and ruin anonymity online for journalists, activists, and whistleblowers while also potentially actually putting the data of children at increased risk of being stolen in data breach. I can also almost guarantee that criminals will use fake identifications and scape goats to continue harming whomever they please without any increased risk to them vs now.
