Sam peered around the corner of the corridor, seeing two engineers standing in front of the server room, eagerly chatting about board games. She tapped her paw impatiently.
There were a few lines that the rodent wouldn’t cross, and injuring civilians was one of them.
She pulled out her tablet and brought up the floor plan, overlaid with schematics for security systems, cameras and internet linked machines.
*Closest room within their clearance, ROSE?* she thought.
[Staff room, three doors down, one other staff member present.]
She grinned.
A couple of taps and a moment later, a stoat's head poking out of the door.
"Hey, Steve! Ted! The vending machine just went haywire, free snacks!"
The two men looked at each other in glee and ran to get their prize, leaving Sam alone.
She pulled up her hood - it was go time.

When his job in Devon evaporates, however, he decides to move to Washington DC and Sam can either go with him or be cut off. Is this the kick up the rear Sam needs to put herself out there again?

Oi, her kom det noe som ser veldig bra ut – digital støtte for musikkopplæring i korps, fra Korpshåndboka-folka:
Om jeg hadde hatt mer tid til egen koding, skulle pandemiprosjektet hjemmekorps.no blitt til noe slikt som den appen.. Nå som det eksisterer noe som har kommet mye lenger, kan jeg vel slutte å ønske meg å komme videre med akkurat den koden.

Vær så nært at du ser hvordan den musikalske selvtilliten bygges opp nettopp av rytme, takt og volum, av ens nødvendige bidrag til et fellesskap av sterk lyd. Det er rett og slett vakkert.
Joda, skolekorpsene skal få ta plass – og vi skal heie på dem. Voksne, fornuftige mennesker bør ta medansvar for musikkens økosystem ved å unngå å ytre seg negativt om korps. Det er nemlig som å sage over greina resten av musikklivet (inkludert journalister) sitter på.

En kronikk som Nymoens er som forurensning i et økosystem – holdningene skader selve fundamentet for kulturelle strukturer han selv lever av, omtrent slik menneskers uvitenhet om naturens finurlige sammenhenger fører verden ut i krise på krise.
En mulig resept for Nymoens korpsmusikkintoleranse: finn et barn du bryr deg om, et som spiller i korps. Kom tett på. Opplev stadiene fra fersk aspirant til stadig stødigere musikant.

Å bruke «økosystem» som metafor, åpner opp for å reflektere over at økosystemer er sårbare, og at tilsynelatende små ting kan ha store konsekvenser. Grunnmuren for et hvert skolekorps er barns musikkglede og motivasjon. Den kan fort trues – av kamerater som ikke synes korps er kult, av selvkritikk når en hører at det ikke låter bra nok enda, men også av offentlige ytringer.

Har han muligens nettopp anmeldt et blues-album som ble til fordi saksofonisten har levd av å undervise i tre forskjellige skolekorps mens hen finslipte ferdighetene sine? Eller skrevet om svartmetall-låter av trommeslagere som også er varme, viktige pedagoger i unge slagverkeres liv?

Har han reflektert over hvor mye av musikken han er glad i som er skapt av utøvere som lærte sine første noter i korps, eller har kunnet leve av musikken gjennom å undervise for korps? Musikklivet er nemlig et økosystem, der skolekorpsene fyller helt essensielle funksjoner. Rekruttering, opplæring, økonomisk motor.. Hvor mange timer med loppemarked ligger bak kulturuttrykkene journalist Nymoen lever av å skrive om?

Årets negative tirade om korps står kulturjournalist Bjørn Anders Nymoen for. I kronikken «En nasjon i takt, en mann i tvil» på NRK Ytring bekjenner han sin manglende forståelse for korpsmusikk.
Det sies om tamme katter at de tror de er selvstendige, men egentlig er helt avhengig av et system de ikke forstår. Jeg har lyst til å si noe liknende om kulturjournalist Nymoen.

Har nå gjennomgått naturlig progresjon fra korpsfar til korpsonkel, og gått som ledsager for nevø - annen by, annet korps. Fått masse videoer underveis fra gamlekorpset og sett «mine» musikanter feire dagen også.
Det aller fineste: videoer fra en stor jam session som oppstod mens de venta på å komme inn i Barnetoget i Oslo. Barn jeg hørte spille sine første noter for tre år siden står der og improviserer med de eldste! Herlighet, så fine de er alle sammen 🥰🤩
