Hereโs a full translated post from โVolyaโ which in my opinion best summarises what we know as of now. Tl;dr - not much.
According to Russian officers stationed in the Kursk region, the situation is as follows. On the afternoon of 9 September and the morning of 10 September, one of the units of the 51st regiment, reinforced by combined detachments from different units, launched assaults in the direction of Krasnooktyabrsky and Snagosti. Moreover, some of the Russian military claim that Snagosti was actually attacked from the direction of the village of Korenevo, which the AFU suddenly abandoned, withdrawing its units from there. Ukrainian sources have not yet confirmed the abandonment of Korenevo. However, they did confirm that the Russian Armed Forces had "slipped north of Snahosti".
In the early morning of 10 September, the remaining units of the 51st Regiment and 155th Marine Brigade began advancing on Gordeevka and neighbouring villages from the direction of Kulbaky. They managed to occupy Gordeevka and neighbouring Vnezapnoye, but were repulsed at Apanasivka, 10th October and Krasnooktyabrskyi. It is unclear under whose control Gordeevka and Vnesazapnoye are now. The Ukrainian armed forces have launched counterattacks, some of which have been successful, according to Ukrainian interlocutors. But fighting in that area continues.
One of the Russian officers in Kursk region said that loud statements about a big offensive appeared after the group's headquarters received reports of success in Gordeevka and Vneszapnoye, as well as a successful attempt to approach Snagosti from the north. So far, local Russian successes on the way from Kursk to Moscow have turned into a major breakthrough, which was very much awaited in the Kremlin and the General Staff.
We have already written several times that there was no clarity about what decision would be taken by the Russian command on the ground regarding the troops in the Glushkovsky district south of the Seim River. Either they will be withdrawn to Rylsk or they will try to reinforce them and launch a counter-offensive. The second option has probably been chosen. If it is confirmed that the AFU has indeed abandoned the village of Korenevo, Krasnooktyabrskoye will most likely be abandoned as well (due to the threat of encirclement). On the afternoon of 9 September and the morning of 10 September, one of the units of the 51st regiment, reinforced by combined detachments from different units, launched assaults in the direction of Krasnooktyabrsky and Snagosti. Moreover, some of the Russian military claim that Snagosti was actually attacked from the direction of the village of Korenevo, which the AFU suddenly abandoned, withdrawing its units from there. Ukrainian sources have not yet confirmed the abandonment of Korenevo. However, they did confirm that the Russian Armed Forces had "slipped north of Snahosti".
In the early morning of 10 September, the remaining units of the 51st Regiment and 155th Marine Brigade began advancing on Gordeevka and neighbouring villages from the direction of Kulbaky. They managed to occupy Gordeevka and neighbouring Vnezapnoye, but were repulsed at Apanasivka, 10th October and Krasnooktyabrskyi. It is unclear under whose control Gordeevka and Vnesazapnoye are now. The Ukrainian armed forces have launched counterattacks, some of which have been successful, according to Ukrainian interlocutors. But fighting in that area continues.
One of the Russian officers in Kursk region said that loud statements about a big offensive appeared after the group's headquarters received reports of success in Gordeevka and Vneszapnoye, as well as a successful attempt to approach Snagosti from the north. So far, local Russian successes on the way from Kursk to Moscow have turned into a major breakthrough, which was very much awaited in the Kremlin and the General Staff.
We have already written several times that there was no clarity about what decision would be taken by the Russian command on the ground regarding the troops in the Glushkovsky district south of the Seim River. Either they will be withdrawn to Rylsk or they will try to reinforce them and launch a counter-offensive. The second option has probably been chosen. If it is confirmed that the AFU has indeed abandoned the village of Korenevo, Krasnooktyabrskoye will most likely be abandoned as well (due to the threat of encirclement). But it is too early to draw conclusions. Z-channels Krasnooktyabrskoye has already been "liberated", which does not mean anything. Some of the Russian military claim that in Snagosti and in general along the front of the offensive, the AFU withdrew the main forces before the offensive began, leaving only outposts. Whether this is true and what it was done for - we will find out tomorrow.
