I never imagined that in my older age, thanks to streaming TV services, I would become so familiar with the Joseon Dynasty in Korea. But here we are😳 - and I’m actually lovin it. That is all… #Korea #KoreanCulture #KoreanTV #KoreanDrama #Streaming

The fan skills of Fan Master (Kim Tae-woo) in Culinary Class Wars Season 2 are reminding me of Jang Hyuk as Yi Bang-won in My Country: The New Age.
Different contexts, different fans, but I'm swooning over them both.

We have been watching a Korean show called "The Best Chicken" about a scrappy young entrepreneur with a deep love for fried chicken. (He literally says at one point in the show, something like: "i just love fried chicken so much")
Anyway, I'm mainly posting this to share this Chicken Song, which shows up occasionally in the show and now won't leave our heads:

Admittedly, it's a bop. And, like the show's protagonist, it is also all about a deep love for chicken.

I've found out that MTV broadcasts The Show (with months of delays from the current airing, but let's not ask too much!), a Korean TV program where k-pop bands go perform.
It's all in VO with English subtitles.I'm thrown back to my youth when MTV would do the same with English TV programs 😂

I've been watching a string of Korean historical dramas which leads me to say:
Korean men, please bring back those fabulous hats! They are truly incredible.

The Korean show "Mr. Queen" is absolutely amazing. The acting is AMAZING, especially Hye-Sun Shin. I wasn't expecting much, but this is top-tier production quality. Also, I already thought I was getting a good length show, but each of those 20 episodes is over an hour, and some are closer to 1.5 hours. Not a complaint.

I am obsessed with Korean TV - the shows are difficult to describe (romcomdrama? Telenovela?), but I’m hooked. Does anyone have recommendations? Here are the ones I’ve watched so far on Netflix in order of preference (I don’t do violence or really sad stuff):
Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Once Upon a Small Town, Start Up,
Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Run On, Our Beloved Summer, Business Proposal, Crash Land Onto You #koreantv #koreanromcom -

@redwellyfeats - I have recently discovered Korean romcoms on Netflix and am totally into them. I’d love some recommendations. Here are my faves so far. (I avoid violence and sadness). #koreantv
Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Once Upon a Small Town, Start Up,
Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Run On, Our Beloved Summer (not much happens)
Business Proposal (wacky)
Crash Land Onto You (gave up after three episodes) -
There’s a new Korean game show that just started called Treasure Hunt, that I *loved* the first ep of. It’s a mix of large scale city-wide escape room style puzzles with Squid Game vibes. Great visualisations and cinematography really give a great sense of what’s going on. I watched it here: https://dood.re/d/y1iinqi1thf7 #KoreanTV #EscapeRooms #TreasureHunt

Watching Korean TV shows:
This is obviously a comedy.
Okay, no, it’s a romantic comedy.
No. Not a comedy, just a romance.
Not a romance. This is a tragedy.
Everyone is going to die in the end, aren’t they?
Sigh.
