Wie versprochen habe ich mich mit dem OTTO Comp von Audio Damage beschäftigt.
Habe das Plugin mit Cakewalk Sonar gecheckt.
OTTO muss als Send eingebunden werden. Die verschiedenen Presets klingen vom Start weg schon recht amtlich & kann manuell angepasst werden.
Für ein kostenloses Plugin sind die Features sowie Einstellmöglichkeiten echt erstaunlich.
Testet es unbedingt mal an.

Last weekend, I used @TranslateKit to localize #Pagi and #Kompressor into several to me, foreign languages after users requested it.

It's extremely well done software. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use.

Highly recommend.

#Kompressor 1.1 is now available. There are many tiny improvements since the last version, but the two main features are:
- Support for AVIF conversion
- A new preview to compare images before and after compression while tweaking settings

AVIF support for #Kompressor coming soon.

Has been the most requested feature for months.

@pasi I recently switched the business model of #Kompressor from one-time-purchase before download to IAP with the classic monthly, yearly, lifetime options after some indie-dev friends recommended it.

There wasn't any noticable change in revenue. The only thing that has changed was downloads. And there is only a very small minority that went for monthly and yearly subscriptions.

As a consumer I don't like subscriptions and that's the main reason, why I don't want to force my users to subscribe to my apps.

Just found out the iPhone 16 uses JPEG XL instead of HEIC.

I tried the Xcode 16 beta and enabled Swift 6 for #Kompressor this morning. It didn't go all too badly. Took around 10 minutes to get warning free again.

Complete Concurrency Checking was enabled before, which I guess helped a bunch before the actual migration. Kompressor's codebase is pretty small.

I am transitioning #Kompressor to an app with a free trial, which means I have to remove the upfront price in the App Store.

I know pricing changes in the App Store can take a while, and rolling out a new version can take a while as well. I am worried that if I remove the upfront price now and release the new version at the same time, some users will still have to pay the upfront price for the new version and then get hit with a paywall after they hit their free conversion limit.

Not sure how to deal with this, so I'm making the current version (1.0.7), which doesn't include a free trial, free for the next 24 hours or so. And then release the version that includes the free trial (1.0.8) after I am sure the pricing changes are through.

If you have any advice on how to deal with this or have dealt with this in the past, please let me know. I am curious how others would deal with this situation.

I think it’s pretty crazy that it’s the default to share a photo with location data when using the iOS share sheet. Apple and other software companies could do a better job protecting users here. The only people I know that even think about this fact, are people who got burned by it.

I did a bit of research into this topic and was surprised to see that other popular tools in our community do not remove this data and make it extremely simple for everyone to get the precise location of a user.

You really have to think twice before uploading a photo of your cat or balcony.

I built an option to remove EXIF and location data right into #Kompressor for exactly this reason.

Shipped version 1.0.3 of #Kompressor

· Includes pixel size presets for .ico and .icns formats
· Includes sound FX for the max pixel size menu
· Includes minor fixes and other improvements

Had a bit of time to finalize the 1.0.2 update of #Kompressor

It's available on the App Store since yesterday.

It includes WebP export and max pixel size presets.

hat jemand zufällig eine #Bedienungsanleitung für diesen kleinen #Kompressor? Über Internet finde ich zwar das Gerät, aber keine Anleitung.
Mir geht's dabei vorrangig um die #Wartung der kleinen Maschine - Öl, Filter, Sicherungen...
Laufen tut es sonst sehr gut.
