The Quebec government has introduced a bill aimed at helping prevent intimate partner violence. The law would allow people to obtain information about the conjugal violence history of their current or ex-partner. The bill has been referred to as the Gabie Renaud law, named after a woman whose partner killed her last year after being arrested dozens of times and convicted at least six times for incidents related to intimate partner violence.

So what we are effectively seeing here is the culmination of an ever increasing pressure campaign to get that oil.
1. Designate Venezuelan gangs as narcos (whether they are or not)
2. Revoke asylum applicants from Venezuela
3. Blow up Venezuelan boats (ahem drugs)
4. Prepare for land invasion
5. Trump calls Maduro (“You’re sure you won’t change your mind?”) -
While I’m no fan of Maduro, I’m starting to get an inkling that all of this animus Trump has against the Venezuelan people *from the very start of his administration* has everything to do with oil and his “donors”.
This smacks of George Bush Sr. snatching up Noriega from Panama because he refused to give back the Panama Canal.
Operation Just Cause used the same excuses that Trump is using today: “Drugs”

Carter G. Woodson, a historian and one of the first Black Ph.D.s from Harvard, founded it to make sure Black contributions weren’t erased from history. His work led to the full month we celebrate today.

Not sure if the younglings today remember that #Reddit itself became what it is out of widespread user revolt in 2010 against the previous "front page of the internet", #Digg.
Then as now, the #enshittification cycle led Digg to redesign their popular site, giving outsize voice and influence to commercial interests over the users who built the experience. They bounced to Reddit, and here we are.
Or I should say... here we are AGAIN.
