Did you know Black History Month started as Negro History Week in 1926?
Carter G. Woodson, a historian and one of the first Black Ph.D.s from Harvard, founded it to make sure Black contributions weren’t erased from history. His work led to the full month we celebrate today.
Black history is American history. Let’s honor it every day.
