Some #healthcare professionals are choosing not to process their own #MoralInjury resulting in a bunch of traumatized people purposefully, and unknowingly, walking around weighed down by #KnowledgeBlindness

That desire reflects a deep misanthropic understanding of how people think, behave, and act, while also demonstrating #KnowledgeBlindness of what was the impetus to develop & launch the “News” feed in 2012: users were already sharing stories on their Facebook “wall”.

I don’t necessarily subscribe to the idea that people of European descent in the Americas haven’t done any positive things.

Mostly they just try to survive and thrive in a hostile environment that is optimized in favor of power structures that preexist and outlast them.

Accurately labeling the power structures can reveal #KnowledgeBlindness.

The idea of “white culture” is a symptom of a lack of knowledge - and acceptance: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poor_W

  4. DISC, StrengthsFinder, Myers-Briggs, and the Zodiac calendar all serve an ancient purpose: to #KnowThyself.

People are hungry for insights to know why they are the way that they are, to understand what makes them tick, and how to become self-actualized.

The reason: most people suffer #KnowledgeBlindness about themselves, their family, and #history.

People are generally averse to doing the hard work, and the above solutions serve as a sort of hack.

  5. People who advocate for “revolution” seem to suffer from #KnowledgeBlindness that they are rarely bloodless.

  6. @peachfront yeah, my point is that once you start unpacking, it removes the pervasive #KnowledgeBlindness and can help to #KnowThyself.

Stress elevates cortisol levels which inhibits memory retention.

Parents age out of this phase and experience #KnowledgeBlindness.

I recommend expectant parents take daily pictures through kindergarten, because the stress alone leave blind spots that photo and videographic memories spur incredible information, joy, and #saudade.

    LOL

I need to get back to editing my essay on technology, education, and upskilling so I can publish it.

There is a lot of #KnowledgeBlindness around this subject.

Sports is how men show affection to each other without getting emotional. It’s integral to the patriarchy and masculinity.

That is why the prospect of trans athletes is so threatening and unsettling to cisgender populations who prefer to maintain #KnowledgeBlindness, dismissed emotional capacity, and reduced #CognitiveLoad.

  10. People who over-index in disciplinarian psychometrics tend to credit their own growth with pain.

However, because cortisol inhibits memory retention, they suffer from #KnowledgeBlindness related to how they acquired knowledge, or skills.

The only thing they can attribute to the growth: pain itself.

  11. The #CultureWar playing out is between young BIPOC femmes (who internalized the language of therapy) and Boomer men (who should have sought therapy and never did).

Basically, we’re experiencing a fast-paced generational conflict of #KnowledgeBlindness: between people who are well-read on internal knowledge of self, but not literate on external knowledge of the world, and vice versa, people who have lived experience of the world, but don’t know themselves.

  12. @GeePawHill

Well, I think there’s a bunch of folks in East Tennessee that have no idea about the history of the place they live.

Transgenerational #trauma can result in #KnowledgeBlindness.

I think the Democratic establishment has been off-guard since Bush-Gore, then 9/11, GFC, and Obama left them with an entrenched case of #KnowledgeBlindness.

“If you think Malarkey is a red flag, if your Roman Empire is the fight to protect Democracy, or you realize that this sentence is, itself, proof that we need help here, we want to talk to you.”

The people that wrote this know they’re out-matched.

As traumatized as we were by 9/11, I think we forget how traumatized the Silent Generation was by the Great Depression, and then World War II.

  15. The #KnowledgeBlindness here is: how many lynching sites are there which aren’t known or labeled as such?

A lot of repressed people have #KnowledgeBlindness with regards to the contribution of sex work in advancing technology, culture, and norms.

Steve Blank has written posts on LinkedIn about how the “silicon” of Silicon Valley refers to an essential material used in semiconductors supplied to the defense industry.

It’s an “open secret” and people suffer from #KnowledgeBlindness.

  18. The Pessimists Archive jogs “our collective memories about the hysteria, technophobia and moral panic that often greets new technologies, ideas and trends.”
