  1. Earlier this year I wrote about prompt engineering — how to talk to AI better. I thought that was the main thing.

Since then my understanding has shifted. Context engineering — everything you give the model — matters more than the prompt itself.

My Zettelkasten in Obsidian is becoming key to this. The knowledge is there. Now it's about using it well with AI.

  2. Performance Paradox: External Knowledge Seeking Linked to Organizational Struggles

New study shows struggling organizations look outside for knowledge, unlike successful ones that focus internally. Find out why.

  3. When did it click for you that prompt engineering wasn't the whole picture?

For me, it happened gradually. I noticed Claude was giving me more personalised responses over time — not because my prompts got better, but because it had more context about me and how I work.

That shift from "what should I say?" to "what does the model need to know?" changes everything.

    What's your experience been? ctnet.co.uk/context-engineerin

  4. Most teams have too many collaboration tools.

The wiki becomes the archive, not the place where work happens.

In XWiki, teams can work directly inside the knowledge base with:

    • Real-time editing
    • Comments and discussions
    • Page history
    • Granular permissions
    • Structured pages and templates

The goal is to keep context, decisions, and documentation together.

  8. There's a useful way to think about the prompt vs context distinction:

Prompt engineering asks: what should I say?
Context engineering asks: what should the model know?

The scope, mindset and goal are completely different. Once you see it this way, the importance of building good context becomes obvious.

More in my latest post: ctnet.co.uk/context-engineerin

  9. I spent time learning prompt engineering — how to structure asks to get better results from AI. But prompt engineering turned out to be just part of the picture.

The bigger concept is context engineering: providing the model with everything it needs to give you a useful response. System prompts, tools, background information.

  10. 🙌Accessibility is a team effort🙌

In an interview with Golem, our CEO Richard Heigl talks about how we at BlueSpice “failed miserably” in our first accessibility audits – and what we learned from it.

  11. Why start automating your PKM with boring admin tasks rather than something more exciting?

Because trust has to be earned. My AI PKM framework starts at Stage 0 — safe, reversible, administrative tasks where AI can help without touching what matters.

Updating an index is perfect for this. New post exploring both the skill and the framework it belongs to: ctnet.co.uk/claude-code-skills

  13. Digital sovereignty becomes practical when your tools change the terms.

    Pricing can rise.
    Data policies can evolve.
“Hosted in Europe” does not always mean governed only by European jurisdiction.
Product lifecycles can force decisions, too.

For a knowledge base, that matters.

Open source gives teams more control over hosting, auditability, adaptation, and exit.

  14. ⚡A bolder digital Europe is open – BlueSpice at GITEX AI Europe 2026⚡
On June 30 and July 1, 2026, we will be presenting 🪐BlueSpice Galaxy🪐 for the first time at GITEX EUROPE in Berlin!

In our presentations, we’ll offer initial insights into the concept behind our new knowledge universe.💪

We look forward to connecting with you in Hall 1.2, Booth 26!

  15. A Claude Code skill is a Markdown file that sits in your vault's .claude folder. It tells the model exactly how to approach a task — with examples, logic, and scripts it can run.

Unlike a quick chat prompt, a skill persists. Build it once, call it whenever you need it. My A-Z index skill took about 10 minutes to run last time: ctnet.co.uk/claude-code-skills

  16. 📃 Blank pages feel flexible, until every team invents its own format.

Decisions in notes. Updates in chat. Bug reports in folders.

💡With XWiki, templates and structured content let you define the shape once: fields, metadata, layout, and page types.

Less guessing. Better reuse. A wiki your team can trust.

  17. Keeping an A-Z index of Obsidian permanent notes by hand is the kind of task that quietly stops happening.

I built a Claude Code skill to keep it updated — about 10 minutes, runs at month-end. Here's how it works and why this kind of admin automation is the right entry point for AI in your vault: ctnet.co.uk/claude-code-skills

  18. XWiki will be at LEARNTEC in Karlsruhe from May 5 to 7.

Meet us at Hall 2, Booth H30 to talk about open-source knowledge management, documentation, digital education, and long-term control over your organization’s knowledge.

You can meet Neculai, Dan, Michael, and Steffen Rehfuß from our German partner KBC Consulting.

  23. One thing I noticed from my quarterly Claude vault analysis: the 30-minute review was useful, but the specification note I'd built with Claude beforehand was doing most of the work.

'That specification note is carrying a lot of the weight — it provides all the context the model uses.'

The AI is only as good as the context you give it. Full post: ctnet.co.uk/ai-obsidian-vault-

  24. When Claude analysed my Obsidian vault, it mapped disconnected note clusters — groups that don't connect to the rest.

My clusters: AI and tech (unsurprising), gaming, personal finance, health and pressure.

What surprised me: it didn't flag philosophy, which I'd have expected.

Has anyone else run an AI analysis of their PKM? What did it find about your knowledge clusters?

  25. From August 17, Atlassian says metadata and, depending on plan and settings, in-app data from Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management may be used to improve AI experiences across its products.

If your knowledge lives inside someone else’s platform, who decides what it is used for next?

If that conversation is starting on your side, this is a useful place to start:
