Can any of you make these animal hug socks? I don't know how much time it would take, or the cost of materials and the pattern, but they are really popular all of a sudden. I think they would look so cute to wear around the house. I've seen them in sloth, rabbit, panda, red tailed panda, koala, axolotl, bunny, bat, cow, dinosaur, raccoon, and tiger.

I would happily purchase these from an independent small business knitter. I would NOT buy them from a big company. (They won't be as nice as the picture anyway.)

Edited to say that it did not occur to me, but the image could certainly be A.I. generated in order to trick the consumer into buying an inferior product. What I am wondering is if it's possible to make this and have it look like the picture?

Well I managed to finish my KAL Mobius Strip Cowl in the allotted time.
The hardest part was Kitchener stitching the tube.
My arthritic hand coped...lol...but my thumb is kind of sore.

An arthritis flare-up in my left hand, especially my thumb, had stopped my knitting for the past 5 weeks.
I started my cowl for Skein Yarn’s Accessories KAL on 1st June. The KAL finishes 31st July.
Last night I knitted a few rows without too much pain. Big question - can I do the remaining 49 rows then Kitchener the ends together by then?
(Yes, I'm using my beloved DPNs, I honestly don't like circular needles...lol).

For those people who don't have instagram here are the details.

The Secret Stash-busting Sock-a-Long is starting in January 2025! Organised by 111Windmills.

The idea is to pick sock yarns or sock sets from your stash, wrap them up so each one is a secret and then randomly pick one of your secret yarns each month for a new sock cast on! You can pair them with the patterns of your choice!

The Sock-a-Long will happen on Instagram and on the free Discord channel (link below). The thread is already up and running with people sharing and chatting all things socks!!

You can pick as many yarns as you like from your stash (or shop new yarns)

To get started, pick the sock sets or sock yarn, and wrap each one separately. You can do the same with your knitting patterns if you like!
Each month (or at whatever time frame you think you can manage) pick out your next sock set and pattern and knit through them all while sharing and supporting fellow knitters!

OPTIONS:
- bundle the yarns SEPARATELY from the patterns, and get a mystery pattern/yarn combo
- bundle the yarns TOGETHER with your chosen pattern for that yarn
- wrap the yarns ONLY, and select the pattern at the time of getting your mystery yarn
- any other combo you prefer

Started knitting the colour-pooling scarf. It's an easy lace pattern but making the cluster is time-consuming as the length of the yarn in the rust colour is approx 50cm (20").

Yarn arrived, pattern organised. Ready.

I'm about to start a colour-pooling scarf (once I finish this month's blanket square). Never tried this knitting technique before so should be interesting.
Basically you knit a simple diagonal lace pattern using the main colour (in this case the mauves & greys) then whenever you reach the contrast (rust) you make cluster stitches.

I definitely need to sort out my yarn.
I have yarn in baskets, in cupboards, and alongside my chair.
The two baskets alongside my chair are my 'working' (...er, um...lol) ones, they're holding the current WIPs that I pick up regularly.
The cupboards hold my main stash and patterns, needles, etc...
Then there are the hand-dyed yarn clubs I belong to that mean I get more each month.

Of course - collecting yarn and using yarn are two different hobbies 😂 😅 😜
