It turns out that I had misplaced the original video file for this one. I had to download YouTube's copy to put it on MakerTube. I was a little skeptical of the file size I got from YT, but then I looked at the original publish date, and remembered that I was dealing with a terrible internet connection offering me only a few kilobits of upload speed at the time, so I made the video as small as I could. I'm almost tempted to dig deeper into backups to see if I may have the original iMovie file on a TimeMachine drive in order to re-export now.

#ArtEveryDay went outside today for a knife making workshop. Really more knife assembling, as we didn't do the metalwork, but still a great day out with a friendly group of strangers who didn't mind that I spreak German like a 2 yr old.

This is something of an experiment for me. Normally I make knives from stainless steel (AEB-L or NitroV) because I give them as gifts. Un pliant cran forcé de marin d'eau douce, lame pied de mouton en acier san mai suminagashi, manche en laiton gravé et ressort guilloché.Celui ci m'accompagnera tous les midis pour déguster mes lentilles fraîchement pêchées, ou pour me défendre contre les hommes poissons (ce que j'espère éviter, surtout le lundi).
J'ai ajouté une photo trafiquée car j'adore la finition polie mais dans ce cas ça estompe les couches du suminagashi (33 par côté), qu'on ne voit donc pas ou peu sur les photos en lumière naturelle.
