Portland #KPDX seems to be the Pacific Northwest's universal flight diversion safe spot lately. Yesterday when thunderstorms popped up in Seattle #KSEA briefly blocking the final approach course, 8 flights diverted to PDX, as well as smaller numbers to Spokane, Bellingham and Pasco. Today, forest fire smoke has dropped Medford #KMFR to IFR conditions. Next stop? Not sure yet. But Portland, OR is just 200 nautical miles away! Rumor has it there are some amazing breweries there…
