I think I might write a plugin for Kmail, which changes the "unsubscribe" link in any mass email message to instead say "Fuck Off".
I'll call it "Fuck Off", because I'm not terribly imaginative with titles.

Man kann ja viel negatives über #Microsoft sagen nur so kaputt wie die Kombination #systemd #KDE #KMail ist es nicht.

I don't use Thunderbird, but #KMail (part of #KDE) and #K9Mail (on Android).
Will / do either of these implement draft-ietf-mailmaint-unobtrusive-signatures ?
If so, let me know how to opt-in.
If not, let me know how to fund an effort.

I am a long-term #KDEPIM user and recently read that due to progress in #SQLite’s performance #Akonadi is now defaulting to that DB on a fresh install.
A few days ago I took the chance and ran `akonadi-db-migrator --newengine sqlite` and it was both painless and I definitely see both lower resource consumption and the PIM suite seems much snappier too!

Since switching from #GNOME to #KDE months ago, I've been trying to switch also from @EvolutionGnome to Kontact, for better/nicer desktop integration, but, unfortunately, I need Exchange (for a work account), and I had to give up. After much struggle, I managed to configure it, but the problems (contacts, automatic synch, Akonadi) are constant. Evolution can be slow at times, but it doesn't let you down. So back home. At least until KDE's new #email client, Merkuro Mail, becomes usable.

Does anyone know why KDE Linux does not offer KMail as an installable software in their software center? Is it perhaps not offered as a flatpack app but via some other package manager?

Retrying KMail after a lot of time (only some months):
I don't know if this has anything with the fact that this time I preemptively switched Akonadi's DB from MariaDB to SQLite because the last time I tried literally nothing worked explicitly because of an obscure MariaDB shenanigan that I wasn't able to work around at all…
But this time everything worked first try? It's usable? It's actually nice to use? KMail is doing a good job, Merkuro calendar is also doing a good job, that's good?
It's literally the very first time I'm having a good experience with anything that interacts with Akonadi even with a stick in 18 years of Linux. That's cool!

I recently reinstalled #KDE #Plasma on my home desktop, but I've still got #xfce on my laptop. But I'm getting tempted to switch it to Plasma as well. I had it on there before, so I know it runs well.
I already use a mix of GTK and QT applications and lean more towards the QT programs. Hard to leave #Evolution mail for #KMail, but I can always just eat the space for the GTK dependencies.

Still messing around with email clients (still worried @thunderbird will get infected by @mozilla's AI stupidity) and Kmail's got a serious deficiency.
By default it won't load remote content in email; that's good! When you turn it on for a message, it turns on for everything in the message; that's bad!
Ideally you'd get to choose what, so you can leave out all that tracking crap that infects everything.
Maybe there's a plugin or something…

Either I am going crazy, or akonadi_imap_resource on Debian 13 requires NetworkManager to be running, and if it is not running it crashes with "invalid nullptr parameter".
Because you know, that kind of hard dependency would make perfect sense, right?
