What do you do when your career is in the doldrums and you are becoming more famous for your stints in prison than your once-promising film career?

In the case of Lindsay Lohan, the answer is to pose for a full nude spread in Playboy, of course.

Hugh Hefner has confirmed that Lohan will be the cover girl for the January edition of the magazine, with her shoot inspired by the iconic Marilyn Monroe Playboy shoot. “It's a classic tribute inspired by the original Tom Kelly nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe, which was featured in the inaugural issue of Playboy," Hefner stated.

However, it has been reported that Hef was dissatisfied with the initial shoot Lohan did for the magazine, prompting Playboy to call her back to reshoot the entire spread, as he believed the images were not up to standard.

This is not the first time the Mean Girls actress has channelled Monroe for a magazine shoot; she appeared on the cover of New York magazine as the 1950s icon in 2008. Unlike that shoot, the Playboy spread features no props such as towels or flowers to cover Lohan’s modesty.

The troubled actress is seeking some positive coverage following her five-hour stint in jail this week for once again breaching the terms of her probation. She will appear fully naked in the magazine, which hits newsstands next month. A spokesperson for Lohan stated that the full-frontal nudity shots are “very tasteful,” and that readers will see a very different side of Lohan in the accompanying interview.
