A blueberry & strawberry galette.
The crust is bomb. That lemon zest & sugar magic is perfection. Some of the strawberries in the garden began to “sun-dry” (like tomatoes) on the plant because I get full sun. They have this stunning concentrated strawberry flavor that trips me out. 😍I plucked some mint & made whipped cream from scratch.
This has made me find a bit of peace tonight. #KitchenWitch

I had two remaining #GrannySmith #Apples from the tree (I ate the 1st one) & chopped them into little bits, added apple brandy, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, lemon zest & lemon juice. Heated it in a sauce pan for 10-15 minutes.
It smells SO GOOD!
Matt made yogurt from an Icelandic yogurt I like & gallon of whole milk. The money you save making your own yogurt! I’ve been making little fruit compotes w/ seasonal fruit for it. This apple compote is a knock-out! #KitchenWitch

But a week of camping near a beautiful local beach, time with the grand littles, and flogging the garden, wood pile and harvests.. it’s been, for the most part, enjoyable, fruitful and satisfying. Today I finally found the time to clean up the garlic, make a couple of pretty braids for the kitchen and separate baskets of “to eat” and “to plant” in a couple of months.
