@Daojoan I’m not sure that’s entirely true for Mastodon so long as we’re talking about them being used judiciously.

However, it’s true when it comes to hashtag bloat where things get tagged with #this, #that, #theother, #kitchensink, #DesperateAttemptToSeemRelevant, #WaaahIWantAttention and a dozen others.

I seem to see more of this than I used to on here. I wonder whether the folks who do it have brought the habit over from other platforms?

when it comes to #omelettes, not only do i tend to take something of a #KitchenSink approach with my ingredients but i also do open-faced ones. ... which, yeah, it's lazier but it beats having to flip and fold and ...baaaaah, effort. i just sauté up the fillings, cover with scrambled #eggs, cook for a little bit while swishing the pan around to get the eggs to cook and when the bottom is done #cooking - here's the important part - cover the pan and let it sit for a couple minutes with the heat off, letting the steam and residual heat cook the egg on top. and done!

empanadas, empanadas, empanadas! baked #empanadas, as a matter of fact.

stuffed with ground #beef, peas, scallions, garlic and onion and seasoned with cumin, paprika, coriander, worcestershire, chili powder and all kinds of herbs and spices. served with yellow #rice and some honey glazed carrots and celery in a white wine reduction.

the best part? this was totally a #KitchenSink creation. about the only planned part was the yellow rice. the filling was just something i came up with and the vegetable side was a last minute thing i threw together because what i originally had in mind (roasted brussels sprouts) wasn't going to be possible (didn't actually have any brussels sprouts 😅).
