  1. In July the Radio Frequency Hackers Sanctuary and the team at WiGLE.net support an all out timesd event for WarDriving.

It’s just bragging rights for the scoreboard mostly - however a factored number of your WarDrive points do count for the inperson DEFCON Wireless Village Capture The Flag event during the DEFCON gathering.

This year I won, a lot like the first year I ever attempted it and I wrote it up completely so that you can understand how to post a lot of points on the scoreboard or maybe even win.

    Read that here - busysignal.io/wwwd2025-defcon3

  2. Finalizing the "Wall of SDR" ...

    P25 in to Trunk Recorder

Multiple SDR into Kismet Wireless for 315/433/915/1090 and also a BT TIC for BTLE monitoring

Multiple SDR into SDR++ Server for local Amateur Radio Repeaters monitoring

Dedicated line to another machine for just specific testing.

    And then finally documented.

  4. Nothing like feeling major FOMO when your internet friends go to #HackerSummerCamp #DEFCON and you’re watching the fun begin - to kick of an ADHD side quest that’s been sitting in your office.

    Here is a #MikroTik 4 slot PCIe card with 4 #AsiaRF #WiFi6E cards installed.

Final photos to come. Still cleaning it up.

  5. You go on vacation but your interest in threat models and curiosity of such means you’re still gonna do hackery things.

Here we have two RasPi 5, 1 with 2 WiFi adapters another with 2 SDR devices…

A scan of the frequencies and the WiFi / LAN network tells you your rental has cameras.

So you continue to learn. On vacation. And make sure the cameras are legitimate.

This kit is a BagBuilds @bag.builds system from bagbuilds.com — it’s a great work up of available space and portability.

2 RasPi5, 1 GLI-net AP/Router, 2 Alfa AXML WiFi Adapters 3 Anker Batteries, BTLE sniffer, CatSniffer BTLE reader.

Kismet wireless deployed for a single GUI and reference point for devices in the Radio Frequency space.

  6. The bag.builds guy (Davide) makes some amazing modifications and attachments for his system.

On the rear - not seen:

    #AntSDR
    Then here we have;
    @hak5gear WiFi PineApple
    #CatSniffer (BTLE, other)
    #CC2540 BTLE sniffer
    (Into RasPi5-01)
    2 #Alfa AXML WiFi adapters
    2 available USB (for expansion)
    (Into RasPi5-02)
    (3) #anker Battery Packs
    (Much cheaper on Amazon used)

Not pictured is the #GDPWin3 running #KismetWireless @kismetwireless
(attached to 5Ghz WiFi on the GLI.net WiFi router)

All the RasPi and the antSDR are feeds to the KismetWireless server running on the portable hand held.

Now I gotta put all these back into their test and server racks. lol.

  8. it took a weekend...

A discone antenna was installed in the attic along with a 5v line for power...

why does an antenna need 5v ?

Well it does if you wanna amplify the signal it is receiving and push that signal 35' feet to the receiver...

And you also wanna amplify it when you wanna connect a lot of devices to a single antenna - all at once - pushing the antenna physics...

    So the wiring is;
Antenna to an FM Block (to knock out the FM broadcast waves that the antenna is being hammered by and then...

the FM Block is connected ot the LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) that will amplify whatever signal with in its range down the cable...

Through to the Antenna COMBINER - where this will take a lot of devices that want an antenna attach and mix them within a single system source - the antenna source.

So I currently have 5 dedicated RTL-SDRs and 1 PiAware ADSB Receiver device (basically an SDR tuned for ADSB Plane beacon receiving) and all of it into the antenna combiner...

    It
    Is
    Amazing

Photo is the top of the server rack in my home office/lab - and it shows the 5 SDRs going to a single NUC for Kismet.

    I can now receive:

Trunk Radio of the municpalities broadcast public comms (unencrypted comms only)

I can tune SDR's to different frequencies where I can see:
    Car TPMS Sensors
    Accurite Temperature / Humidity sensors
Water Meters around the house of my own and others.

Single antenna - multiple devices listening on it...

Next Steps are to setup Trunk Radio and start consolidating the radio comms...

Great Help from the Radio Frequency Hackers Sanctuary Discord and the @kismetwireless Discord groups and the @jawncon Discord for chats and talking... listening to my failures and suggesting different things to try and work through...

  9. Don’t be suspicious
    Don’t be suspicious

Short test run with the antenna combiners and amplifiers for the loss of signal. Seems stable. Running an older version of KismetWireless Nightly builds. The rig has been on a shelf in parts for almost 2 months.

    LoLz.

  10. OK, That's all Folks.

My December #WarDrive @ArkFromWiGLE Canon Ball Run has been completed.

Dropped 320K new #WiFi into #Wigle for December.

    Broke 2M Mark.

Grabbed 1M New WiFi in 140 Days.

Jumped to 29 on the chart as of today.

    Thanks everyone out there.
