  1. In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, I want to recommend Japanese-American Kishi Bashi’s song film “Omoiyari.”

It’s described as “a musical journey to understand WWII era Japanese Incarceration, assimilation, and what it means to be a minority in America today.”

The film is streaming on Paramount+ and the record is available on most platforms. Both are amazing.

  2. Kishi Bashi’s record “Music from the Song Film: Omoiyari” was on my best of 2023 list. It’s truly a gem. The film, “Omoiyari,” tells a story about being a minority in America. Specifically focusing on Japanese internment during WWII.

Awhh, I'm glad you liked the #LauraVeirs. Some of your work also reminds me of #KishiBashi and perhaps even #SufjanStevens. There's def echoes of #AndrewBird too so I think your music has a very good chance of doing well, if you get a lucky break.
