A bit of good news: the long-awaited direct crossing of Slater Avenue on the Cross-Kirkland-Connection/Eastrail Trail is finally open. No more biking down to the corner to cross, the CKC/Eastrail Trail has its _own_ signalled crossing.
A lot of people would just cross there anyway, of course, but it's MUCH better to have a proper bike signal setup there.

Hello, The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for portions of northwest Washington, including all of King County, that will be in effect Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and heavy snow levels/snowmelt runoff may be possible, resulting in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Maps Release: Greater Northshore Bike Connector, MEGAMAP 2.0.6(a)
Greater Northshore Bike Connector Map 2.0.6 – 1 November 2025 – is now available on github, as is MEGAMAP 2.0.6a.
This release reflects a two-week intermittent closure of the Sammamish River Trail in Woodinville, showing an UNOFFICIAL detour. It also shows the newly extended bike lanes on 124th Ave NE in Kirkland (up to NE 124th St, yes, same number different direction), and an update to the extended closure of Kirkland Central Connector through at least the end of November for emergency sewer line repair.
At least that one has a signed detour.

(To be fair, they probably updated it Friday but _after_ I checked for updates and made decisions. So.)
I guess shit's not going well. Which we already knew, that's why they closed it for emergency sewer repair. But this is different shit.
Anyway it doesn't change much except in the warning where it's 100% closed for longer. BUT STILL

100th Ave NE upgraded and extended infrastructure between 139th and 145th is open.
Waiting for this to be open was the reason I didn't drop a new map immediately for Seatlte's E. Marginal Way S. I really wanted more than one new thing on a version if I could get it.
Sources is updated. New maps will be generated this afternoon and dropped when they're ready. I'll try to get it done before BikeNite if I can get it all going between other stuff.

#AmyWalen (running for WA state senate) has rightly called for removing all endorsements for the two candidates involved. Since most residents don't like these two candidates, this is one of those "manna from heaven" moments.

New Greater Northshore / MEGMAP bike maps release!
Big updates in Seattle, important WARNING in Kirkland about a temporary closure, lots of changes to non-marked preferred routes in Mountlake Terrace and Briar as people have figured out preferred routes to light rail.
