Continuing yogurt update: Filmjölk on the first try was kinda curd-like and too watery. I strained off the whey and used the rest in pancakes. Then decided to make another batch with the whey. The second batch came out smooth and the consistency of crème fraîche, so that’s a win! Currently culturing another pass at Matsoni to see if it improves on a second round.

Next step is to taste test and pick a household yogurt. I’m not gonna be tending and maintaining three different strains here. 😂

That said, if someone on the Eastside of #Seattle wants any of these heirloom yogurt cultures, I’m happy to share before I pare! (I mean, I’ll share with Seattlites too, but you gotta come to me ;-) I’m easily biking distance to the Line 2 or a longer walk there.)

A bit of good news: the long-awaited direct crossing of Slater Avenue on the Cross-Kirkland-Connection/Eastrail Trail is finally open. No more biking down to the corner to cross, the CKC/Eastrail Trail has its _own_ signalled crossing.

A lot of people would just cross there anyway, of course, but it's MUCH better to have a proper bike signal setup there.

Apparently #SoundTransit is attempting to cut stations, such as west #seattle , ballard, #issaquah , and #kirkland , from the new ST3 project due to running out of funding. Unforchies it doesnt look like Microsoft is going to foot the bill this time like with the 2 line.

Hello, The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for portions of northwest Washington, including all of King County, that will be in effect Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and heavy snow levels/snowmelt runoff may be possible, resulting in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Residents of flood-prone areas, or who transit these areas, should monitor forecasts, prepare for further Flood Warnings, and prepare to take action should flooding develop.

There's finally an update on the Cross-Kirkland Connector closure-and-detour due to emergency sewer line work.

They're hoping to be done with the sewer reroute in February, with the possibility of re-opening that section of the CKC by the end of the month.
