Please feel invited to join us in a 2-part reading circle, in which we will talk about the text above. It was chosen in the context of the sad reality that in our attempts to create forms of anarchist community relations and affinities, we very often encounter the enforced reality
of so called ‘online social networks’ and ‘mobile technologies’. Too many people feel like these are the only way to access something that poses as a community, but in fact can be considered a system of traps, which destroys all that we desire and need, including our minds. It is an attack, not only on its human ‘users’ and producers, but on all of Earth, as for the required resources, global colonial extraction with civilization as its driving force aims to consume everything just to maintain itself - the suffocating void.
Our intention is to create true solidarity, resistance and autonomy for Life...nothing less than TOTAL LIBERATION.

Same time when my my photo exhibiton starts there also starts very nice festival (and very nearby - only 500 metres distance from the gallery!) in Turku:
Punx for Seitan Fest, the queer feminist and anti-capitalist vegan punk festival, celebrates its 10th edition. The festival kicks off on Thursday 1 August with a discussion on child care as a form of mutual aid (in Finnish) and a screening of the 2017 documentary ”Queercore: how to punk a revolution”. Besides gigs, the weekend programme consists, as usual, of e.g. speed dating, a punk flea market, more discussions, workshops, and a vegan brunch. The celebratory nature of this summer’s festival has been taken into account e.g. by booking bands that have a connection with the past of Punx for Seitan.

In connection to today's noise gig at @kirjakahvila, i have send them some messages on IG (slightly edited below). as #kirjakahvila is one of the few place dear to me, i think an open discourse on these issues is especially important. Like with many other venues (bookers, artists, labels) in finland, i really think we need to have this conversation ASAP, as the 'fascist creep' doesn't sleep.
"i think people who continue to work with known fascists for a long time, have some explaining to do before they are invited to play in spaces, that claim opposing political positions. the normalisation of fascism that is done by these artists should be challenged and not platformed. i have been writing a little bit on this matter in my MAKE NOISE highlight, in case you care to read. also very happy to talk about it more.
i refer to the work with mikko aspa of freak animal label. in general finnish people seem to do not care much about these ties and it is a problem, as aspa is 'snatching up' more and more young artists from the field to his label.
which which besides himself openly supporting PVL and other white supremacists, is a cesspool of fascist, misogynist and pro-child abuse material, in case you/the bookers have not been aware of it.
i hope more people than me, are bringing this issue up. having these acts play under the banners that you put up devalues antifascist poster posing and is an integral part of how fascism is historically operating: creeping (into every place possible) and manipulating. these artist, even though they will continue to claim they are 'antifascists' and at the same time working with them need to be confronted criticized and most likely educated. none of this states that they actually are fascists, but so far it seems that they have been ignoring the critique, most likely because it comes from mostly non-finnish speakers like me.
silence is violence, pretty much sums it up (not just) for the finnish noise scene.
