I've had Polish bassist Kinga Głyk's 2024 album Real Life on repeat for a while. I haven't found such joy and comfort in a fusion album since Senri Kawaguchi's Cider Hard and Sweet.
Głyk lacks the macho virtuosity of someone like Vincen García (a good thing), but her playing has just the right blend of groove and joy that creates the best music.
