As promised, more photos of famous people in kilts.
The photos below show Louis Armstrong wearing a kilt when he visited Glasgow in 1956. In the first photo Satchmo is blowing his own trumpet, and the second photo (a newspaper clipping) he is having a go with a set of bagpipes.
This wasn't just a publicity stunt (or not only), Satchmo requested to be fitted for a full kilt outfit, while at the Kelvin Hall. It was Armstrong tartan, of course.
