  1. It's hard to pick a favourite moment of Val #Kilmer on screen, or even a favourite moment among his many glorious moments in his finest work in #Tombstone, but this is mine.

    It's better with the context of the whole scene and indeed the whole movie, but his delivery of that line — "Why Ike, whatever do you mean?" — cracks me up every time I think of it.

    Borrowing another line of his from that incredible movie: requiescat in pace.

  2. @alternately_deranged Someday I want to visit his home. Every year on his birthday in April, Kilmer's childhood home at 17 Joyce #Kilmer Ave. in #NewBrunswick, holds an #OpenHouse from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  3. #December 6, 1886
    #OTD Alfred Joyce #Kilmer, #Writer, #Poet, & #WWI #Soldier, is born.
    He is #Remembered for his poem, #Trees:

    I think that I shall never see
    A #Poem lovely as a tree.

    A #Tree that looks at #God all day,
    & lifts her leafy arms to #Pray;
    A tree that may in #Summer wear
    A #Nest of #Robins in her #Hair;
    Upon whose bosom #Snow has lain;
    Who intimately lives with #Rain.

    #Poems are made by #Fools like me,
    But only God can make a tree.
