  1. Soft Water, Hard Rock

This is a small section of O’Sullivan’s Cascade in Kerry. The lovely sound of the water falling through the rocks is soothing. The picturesque scene in front of me does the opposite as I worry about composition and, “Did I get a go...

  5. Had a great visit to #KillarneyNationalPark today with some friends in from out of town. We toured inside the #muckrosshouse , hiked a trail around the #torcwaterfall, and visited the #muckrossabbey.

Slightly embarrassed to say that I haven't seen any of these sites even though I've been to Killarney several times already 🫣

  7. Hiked stage 9 of the Kerry Way (from Kenmare to Killarney) for a work team building activity. 13.3 miles of hiking & walking, which is my longest distance by far. Good thing we put on plenty of sun screen and brought lots of water 🥵

The sights were beautiful, the sun was shining and we had some nice conversations. I also got a chance to climb a waterfall and dip my head in it 💦

  9. 🇮🇪🚐📈 The National #Transport Authority (NTA) has announced that the TFI Anseo demand-responsive rural transport pilot in #Killarney has exceeded 50,000 passenger journeys since its launch on 11 August. The service, which allows trips to be booked in advance by app or phone, is increasingly used for work, education, healthcare, shopping and social visits. Now in its eighth month, it is becoming part of daily life for many residents in #Ireland. Officials say the milestone highlights the value of flexible, locally designed transport in improving connectivity and access in rural areas. Funded by the Government’s Climate Action Fund and part of the Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, the pilot continues to evolve based on passenger feedback, with further development planned.

  15. Silk and Moss in the Kerry Woods

Everyone knows Torc Waterfall in Killarney, but O’Sullivan’s Cascade is a hidden gem at the other end of the Lakes of Killarney.

There is a popular legend surrounding the cascade that it was once owned by Fionn MacCumhal and whiskey rather than water flowed from it. O’Sullivan of Tomies is said to have been the only person brave enough to stand up to Fionn MacCumhal and shared a drop of the delightful whiskey. The legend continues that when the English invaded Ireland many years, the whiskey changed into water and became known as O’Sullivan’s Cascade.
