It's just now coming to my attention via France24 that today's round of elections reveal that the best chance #KierStarmer 's party had was to run against a head of lettuce. Surprise, surprise.I don't see this situation making the Tory Conservatives looking better than a head of lettuce, though--that last head of lettuce was theirs at the get-go, after all.
Some gent named Rob was interviewed on BBC America and he proclaimed that the UK already had a 2-party system and this was the whole problem with it--neither ruling party nor "the party opposite" look good to the electorate (which is what we have here in the USA)...then further opined that the UK must be on the road to a government that looks more like those in Europe.
I'll believe that when I see it first.

The only person who took the decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was Keir Starmer & his twisting to avoid responsibility suggests that here is a:
'ruler who was “furious” at being expected to be a ruler'.
It is of course the (sadly not unusual) attempt to have power without responsibility & many of us will be as angry as DAG is, if perhaps a little less erudite in that anger!

I'm no #Starmer fan but I don't see anyone else from #Labour doing a better job. He's been the most "strong and stable" PM for over a decade.
