Someone (Nick) left the Seestar telescope in the car and it turns out we can’t open the boot without the indicators flashing - big no-no on a #Starcamp! (Thanks VW) 😐
The forecast was rubbish for this week so this patch of clear sky snuck up on us. Fingers crossed for the rest of the week!

My first visit to The Nick along #Kielder Forest Drive. Perfect day to dust off the MTB and see how my legs hold up! 🤣 At 457m (that's 1500 feet to weirdos) it's the highest point along the Forest Drive. Its open-ended design is oriented from Kielder to Byrness. #Northumberland #MTB #Gravel

Congratulations to my son are in order having completed the arduous Kielder off-road marathon (in Northumberland, NE England) less then 2 weeks after contracting Covid. 4hrs 10 mins, under the circumstances, is a flipping good time. This wa to do this to raise money for Macmillan, having had 2 of his close relatives treated for cancer in the last year. I don't think it's too late to chip in 😉

With the Tories in the mire, I was reminded of this amazing 40+year project to restore the Border Mires, peat bogland in N/W Northumberland seriously damaged by the planting of the huge forests around Kielder . They hold more water than Kielder Reservoir. And more carbon than the tank of Rishi Sunaks car. And I'm lucky enough to know the amazing botanist/scientist who instigated the project, Angus Lunn.

We drove up to #Kielder today, and boy howdy, those roads do not good #knitting time make. Ended up dropping the sweater back into its bag and casting on a diagonal #dishcloth I can knit with my eyes closed. Or firmly on the road ahead, anyhow.
