  2. Lemon reduces the chance of urinary stones

Lemon contains high amounts of citric acid, a calcium-based chemical that prevents kidney stones.
Two liters of lemonade per day with reduced sugar content is an excellent remedy for urinary stones, the same as citrates.

  3. CW: Kidney Stone

Twenty years ago today I experienced a kidney stone.

Nowadays in doctor's exams, I will get asked "Sir, on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad is the pain?" What they don't realize is that kidney stones warp the scale. On a scale of 1 to kidney stone, there are no 7s, 8s or 9s. NOTHING is "almost as bad" as a kidney stone.

There should be different scales used for those who have, and those who have not, had a kidney stone.

And this is what it looked like.

  10. Had a #kidneystone a few years ago.

Recently I've noticed some stinging and one tiny stone pass. I bought a strainer and I've caught a bunch of gravel, but I couldn't find any #medical info explaining such a profusion of tiny #kidneystones

A new, larger attack today finally made me realize I'm not forming lots of tiny stones. One big stone is breaking up!

And why have I been breaking up a stone for the past few months? Because for Christmas I got 3 large boxes of dried citrus powder.

I'm eating the equivalent of probably 20 lemons/day. I bet my pH is through the roof (or floor--I can never remember which way that goes)

  12. Pretty sure I just caught my first #kidneystone

I had a terrible time with some a few years ago, including screaming, etc. And that was just taking the stent out! ba-dum (but seriously)

Last few months, I've suspected one in my bladder but it wasn't causing a lot of issues. Then just now....blorp...what was that?

    Huh! I'm a #medical wonder

  13. Left #kidneystone on February 1.
    Right #kidneystone on February 23.

Are we done? Going for a big glass of water 💧 now.

  14. Two weeks ago, my wife had knee replacement surgery. Today's the first day she's going to a #PT or #doctor appt.

Meanwhile, 3h ago my back suddenly started hurting a LOT. The #pain is consistent with the #kidneystone pain I had 2 years ago.

I'm *hoping* drinking a lot of water will make it pass quickly and not require surgery like that one did.
