A personal update: I stepped back from writing for much of last year to avoid burnout. I’m hoping to return to it soon, but my priority right now is helping my partner, their son, and their puppy rebuild their lives after escaping a manipulative and abusive situation.

Life remains complicated on my end as well, and I’m still searching for a living kidney donor while continuing dialysis.

My aggressive lifting restrictions SUCK! I feel like I can't do anything. In a society that has really hammered in that men are only good for financial contributions and manual labor, I'm feeling really depressed. As I am unemployed and in a long recovery that prevents nearly all physical activity outside of short walks. I also get physically exhausted very quickly anyway. So the majority of my time is spent restless, sedentary, and left with my thoughts of worthlessness.

OK my servers have all been down the last couple of days so I guess I'll have to catch up around here. But some things are temporarily back up. I moved my reverse proxy to run on my home assistant box and put back up a server that was going to get phased out to get some of the stuff I rely on back up. My server hardware upgrades didn't go exactly as I planned due to some hardware incompatibilities and I'm now paused until I can get replacements. This is not going how I planned, but it is going about how I expected. Being in recovery has also made this more difficult as I can't lift my computers and I tire out pretty quick.

Tomorrow will be five weeks since I donated a kidney and I'm back to normal!
- Went swimming
- Rode a bicycle
- Returned to work

Certain motions stretch my abdomen (in a good way) but nothing hurts. Feels great to plop into bed carelessly again - not to mention sneezing!
