Lake of Dreams🌟
My first time trying acrylic markers! I didn’t use them as intended because as soon as I started painting I realized I was using the wrong paper for them (I used watercolor cold press, uh oh). I decided to keep going and used the markers as base colors and finished the piece with color pencils and some digital color correction and finishing touches in Procreate.

Been a bit sick this week, so delay on this!
Was also stuck on what to draw… but then I found DQ has a drink called the Misty Sunset (slushie) so figured hey why not 😅

Don’t think about its digestive system, it’s a magical creature, and survives off pixie dust 😅

Sunfish eat jellyfish, but I’m not sure about mer cat jellyfish….

Apart from the glowing lure, the main thing I remember about anglerfish is that the females are a lot bigger than the males. Not sure if it’s all species though.

So, I kinda messed this up… I thought Ziggy Stardust was from the future but I guess he’s just from Mars.
But Ziggy will always seem futuristic to me, even as a mer cat 😅

Just a knight and her trusty steed! The knight can breathe underwater, don’t worry, it’s magic 😆

I actually had a cat-ray but it looked a bit odd so here’s an oversized ray with a mer cat friend.
I also learned rays are classified as superorder (?) Batoidea, which has nothing to do with bat fish.

Halfway through MeowMay! Kitty is going to the masquerade ball as a very fancy mermaid.

Another combo (bit pressed for time this week)! Comfy clownfish kitty napping in their favourite bed.
Clownfish are immune to anemone’s stings coz of a special mucous membrane, meaning they get to hang out there undisturbed!

Lava and Stormy are eel-kitties that enjoy hanging out in the deep sea!

Narwhal kitty lives in an icy wonderland, though I guess these days there’s comparatively less ice.
