Russian forces conducted localized offensive operations near Bakhmut on December 16 and recently made a confirmed advance. Geolocated footage published on December 16 indicates that Russian forces advanced north of #Khromove (immediately west of #Bakhmut).

Quick Sitrep #Bakhmut area

Russians are progressing day after day.on the axis between #Bohdanivka and #khromove 50-60m / day rate of progress is steady.
it seems that Russian have now reach part of the famous road that is going from Chasiv Yar to Bakhmut.

Also some Ru moves toward #Klyshiivka - situation is quite difficult now but still under control. Ru have not seized heights yet. Also losing many "pax" now...

couple days ago vs today.

2/ more concerning :
actually we are witnessing a constant and total progress (no back and forth, not decreasing, not dispersing forces, and with strong support) in the area of North #Bakhmut
so this is a real concern there as it seems to be confirmed that the famous outskirt small residential area of #khromove has been seized by RU forces.

3/ ensuite pour les petites avancées vers #Vodiane (N #Pervomaiske) ou qq autres points vers Bakhmut (NW) j'expliquerai demain (attention pas de progressions dans la foret pres de #Khromove c'est encore un ajustement de qq ploucs en retard sur les geoloc), mais à nouveau... donc...
en l'état, rien de fou... donc : "il n'y a pas le feu au lac" !

et dernier point... j'avais aussi "senti le truc venir" pour les attaques le long du Dniepr

(i) In the northern salient of #Bakhmut,

Like a balloon, it deflates under #AFU pressure (which takes its time and according to opportunities) through its two bases (#SaccoIVanzetti and #Khromove) and its summit (#Zaliznianske) on either side of the M-03👇

2/ Situation is evolving everyday right now in #Bakhmut though (i've explained this phenomenon to be expected as the area of "contact" is reduced, so the Ru strength are no more diluted on several kilometers. also Ukrainians have prepared line of defenses back on the field and it's gonna be a bit more difficult for Ru to advance in the open unless the flanks cannot hold.
i just don't know what is happening in the area of the city, south of #Khromove
so right now Ru are almost 100% in control

The last line of defense is based on three anchor points: the SW exit (Mig-17 square), the NW exit to #Khromove and the "Domino" fort in the west, towards which the 🇷🇺 are advancing 👇(the "Designer" fort fell as I predicted yesterday)

14/ because actually what will happen is that Ru are going to have a "salient" (saillant) for the first time if they still not manage to take the hill north #Khromove and the village itself, or will they (of course) try to make a pincer move to cut the UKR defense there from 2 positions.

same goes for the south of the city where need to secure some strong defensive positions even before thinking going directly to #Ivaniske

so that is going to be the points to check by next week,imo!

The second took place NW of #Khromove to push back 🇷🇺 approaching W-0506 and leave the western evacuation corridor open (53° angle, 5 km)

These counterattacks improved tactical 🇺🇦 positions but without significant gains

Fighting continues in #Bakhmut and near the highway close to #Khromove. (Ru claimed today they gained back the couple hundred meters Ukr were able to clear 2 days ago = we'll see tomorrow) it's exactly the same In the area of the Stupoky , Ukr have made real progress, but we do not know the exact extent of it, and if today there was any consolidation. The exact situation in that area has to be clarified.

6/ going more into details now in #Bakhmut
it's quite difficult with all the back & forth to really be sure of what is the actual situation.

we do have registered though through geoloc vids some Ru advances in the north part of the last quarter in direction of #khromove (purple limits)
(all red arrows are confirmed geolocs, but in between and due to delay we are not sure of actual positions)
but apparently from all sources i read, Ru are advancing again...

anyway that"s it UKR have managed

Ru carried out airstrikes on Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Kuryumivka and New York and shelled Zaliznyans'ke, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Markove, Bakhmut, Ivanivs'ke, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Oleksandro-Shul'tyne and Leonidivka.
&
Ru carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of #Khromove, #Ivanivske, #ChasivYar and #Stupochky where they are sending small & totally unprepared troops, so just throwing "dead" on the fields.
Pathetic.

Particularly towards #Khromove, on the northern flank, where the drone-infantry combination wreaks havoc on the enemy 👇

2/ So regarding #Bakhmut : #Wagner / RU SOF troops r currently gaining some grounds day after day & really hard battle are taking place directly on the last "quarter" of the city & there is not much "back & forth" now, Ru dynamics seems really strong there, confirming all indications as previously reported.
Ru regular forces also are still trying to take #Bohdanivka & or #Khromove but as we speak they are not able to make any progress there.

so the "flanks" are still somehow under control

6/ and of course in the south area near main LOCs to Ivaniske->#ChassivYar
but as said several time, as long as you see an army have such a masterful conduct in keeping alive his main "life's lines" (and keeping away Ru from their flanks) really speaks volume!!

Also attacks on #Khromove have failed. yes Ru headed there but realized it was not possible to "keep it" without huge losses so they really got back at least 1km back. they r mad but can't do shit! (pardon my french!-)

5/ now regarding #Bakhmut : #Wagner troops r currently gaining some grounds & really hard battle are taking place directly on Korsunskogo Street and now past the railway station (i've witnessed a back & forth -at least 2 times this week of location "changing hand") but now, Ru dynamics seems really strong there.
Also on the north part of the city.
As said the only thing that would have really worried me was if Ru have seized #Bohdanivka & or #Khromove
