Há algumas décadas atrás, quando se falava de atingir certos objetivos de alcance coletivo, se falava diretamente nesses objetivos. E daí, cada linha puxava pra uma corrente: "conquistas democráticas" (PT) ou "vitórias táticas" (comunistas). Agora, com esse papo frouxo de soberania, tudo é por soberania... Vocês parecem não entender o risco que é desse argumento terminar no nacionalismo mais canalha da face da terra. Não é pq vc coloca um "popular" na frente do seu "soberania" que o maquinário vai magicamente deixar de ser um moedor de carne de pobre, e nesse caso também de estrangeiro. Am 5. Juli gewann Masoud #Pezeshkian die Stichwahl im #Iran, um Ebrahim #Raisi als Präsident der Islamischen Republik abzulösen, nachdem dieser im Mai bei einem #Hubschrauberabsturz ums Leben gekommen war. Während des kurzen Wahlkampfs versuchte Pezeshkian, die Wähler mit dem grundlegenden Programm seines reformorientierten Lagers für sich zu gewinnen: Wiederaufnahme der Verhandlungen mit dem Westen zur Aufhebung der #Sanktionen, Aufbau der #Wirtschaft, #Bekämpfung der #Armut und #Investitionen in den #Wohnungsbau, das #Gesundheitswesen, die #Wohlfahrt und die #Zivilgesellschaft. Er wurde Ende des Monats offiziell als #Präsident vereidigt.
Ismail #Haniyeh, der Leiter des politischen Büros der #Hamas, kam nach Teheran, um an der Amtseinführung von Peschkian teilzunehmen. Mehreren Berichten zufolge beauftragte #Israel einheimische Agenten damit, Sprengsätze in der Unterkunft von Haniyeh anzubringen, die von den #Revolutionsgarden für die Unterbringung hochrangiger Gäste genutzt wird. Mit der Ermordung Haniyehs in der iranischen Hauptstadt scheint Israel versucht zu haben, die Islamische Republik gleich am ersten Tag der Amtszeit des neuen, gemäßigten Präsidenten in einen regionalen Krieg zu ziehen, den der Iran zu vermeiden hoffte. Es ist zu erwarten, dass der Iran darauf reagieren muss, und zwar mit mehr Nachdruck als bei seinem letzten choreografierten Angriff auf Israel im April.
Damit setzt Israel eine lange und scheinbar kontraintuitive Tradition fort, in der es konservative, entschieden israelfeindliche Präsidenten im Iran Reformisten vorzieht, die es als schädlich für seine strategischen Interessen ansieht. Schließlich rührt ein Teil der Unterstützung Israels durch amerikanische und europäische Regierungen von der Vorstellung her, dass Israel ein westlicher demokratischer #Vorposten in einer "gefährlichen Nachbarschaft" ist, der böse Akteure im Nahen Osten besiegen kann, bevor sie #Europa und den #Westen erreichen.Nach dieser Logik ist der Iran der #Hauptfeind: eine antiwestliche, antisemitische, theokratische #Diktatur, die eine klare und unmittelbare Gefahr für die Welt darstellt. Wenn der Iran gemäßigte Führer wählt, untergräbt er diese monolithische Karikatur - und Israel, das sich weigert, seine Haltung gegenüber seinen regionalen Nachbarn zu ändern, sieht eine diplomatische Bedrohung.
Jahrzehntelange vereitelte Diplomatie
Mitte der 1990er Jahre befand sich der Iran nach 15 turbulenten Jahren im Umbruch: die #Revolution von 1979, ein achtjähriger Krieg mit dem #Irak, in dem Hunderttausende getötet und verwundet wurden, der Tod des Obersten Führers Ruhollah #Khomeini im Jahr 1989 und eine #Wirtschaftskrise, die die iranische Wirtschaft zu zerstören drohte. Unter Präsident Akbar Haschemi #Rafsandschani, der 1989 sein Amt antrat, versuchte das Land, sich wieder aufzubauen - und international einen neuen Weg einzuschlagen.
Rafsanjani versuchte insbesondere, eine neue Seite in den Beziehungen zwischen dem Iran und den Vereinigten Staaten aufzuschlagen. Im Rahmen seiner Politik der wirtschaftlichen Öffnung und zur Wiederbelebung der iranischen Ölindustrie und Wirtschaft bereitete er eine umfangreiche Konzession für die amerikanische Ölgesellschaft Conoco vor, die die Erschließung zweier neuer #Ölfelder vorsah. Der Oberste Führer Ali #Khamenei billigte das Angebot, da er den Wert eines Olivenzweigs gegenüber den Vereinigten Staaten erkannte, und 1995 hatten das Außen- und das Finanzministerium der #USA #Conoco die Genehmigung erteilt, das Geschäft voranzutreiben.Dann geriet die Israel-Lobby - #AIPAC und die israelische Regierung - in Panik und versuchte, das Geschäft zu vereiteln. Nachdem sie Mitglieder des US-Kongresses vor der "Gefahr" von #Handelsabkommen mit dem Iran gewarnt hatten, beugte sich Präsident Bill #Clinton dem Druck. Im Jahr 1995 erließ er zwei #Durchführungsverordnungen, die jeglichen Handel amerikanischer Unternehmen mit dem Iran untersagten, und ließ anschließend eine Reihe neuer Sanktionen gegen den Iran verhängen. Das Conoco-Geschäft scheiterte, und die Chance, die amerikanisch-iranische Diplomatie weiterzuentwickeln, war vertan.
Die Geschichte wiederholte sich einige Jahre später unter der Präsidentschaft von Mohammad #Khatami, der auf einer Plattform gewählt wurde, die die Notwendigkeit eines Dialogs zwischen dem Iran und dem Westen betonte. Kurz nach seinem Amtsantritt signalisierte US-Präsident George W. #Bush, dass er daran interessiert sei, die Beziehungen zwischen den USA und dem Iran zu überdenken und möglicherweise wiederherzustellen. Daher bauten Israel und der AIPAC rasch eine breite Koalition im Kongress auf, um die Sanktionen gegen den Iran zu erneuern.
Nach den Anschlägen vom 11. September änderte sich der politische und öffentliche Diskurs in den Vereinigten Staaten völlig, aber es gab immer noch Möglichkeiten für eine amerikanisch-iranische Zusammenarbeit. Khatami bat seinerseits darum, die Vereinigten Staaten bei der Stabilisierung Afghanistans nach der US-Invasion zu unterstützen, was zu einer nachhaltigen Beendigung des Krieges hätte beitragen können.
Der Iran war der wichtigste regionale Feind der Taliban-Regierung in #Afghanistan, und im Dezember 2001 setzten sich die Vereinigten Staaten, der Iran und R#ussland in #Bonn zusammen, um eine afghanische Interimsbehörde einzurichten, die an die Stelle der #Taliban treten sollte - eine Vereinbarung, die den israelischen Premierminister Ariel #Sharon dazu veranlasste, Bush des #Appeasement à la Neville #Chamberlain zu bezichtigen. Das Weiße Haus wies diese Äußerungen offiziell zurück, aber im darauf folgenden Monat wurde die Zusammenarbeit beendet. Am 29. Januar 2002 wurden Khatamis Bemühungen durch Präsident George W. Bushs Rede zur "Achse des Bösen" und eine Reihe neuer Sanktionen gegen den Iran beantwortet.
Die Vereinigten Staaten, Israel und der Westen hatten es viel leichter mit Mahmoud #Ahmadinejad, dem Nachfolger von Chatami, dessen provokanter Stil und scharfe antizionistische Äußerungen es leichter machten, den Iran als Gefahr für Israel und die Welt darzustellen. Doch der gemäßigte Politiker Hassan #Rouhani wurde 2013 mit dem Versprechen zum Präsidenten gewählt, ein Abkommen mit den Vereinigten Staaten und dem Westen zu schließen, das es dem Iran erlauben würde, sein #Atomprogramm für wissenschaftliche und zivile Zwecke aufrechtzuerhalten und im Gegenzug die Sanktionen zu lockern - eine Situation, die Israel erneut nicht akzeptieren wollte.

There was an attack against the home of some of the senior members of Iranian People's Mujahedin, MKO of cult of Rajavi in Paris last week.
I didn't read much on French or international news, but the attack has the clear footprints of IRGC #Quds force and the main target was Masoud Keshmiri who was named as the personal behind the bombing in Tehran back in the summer of 1981 that killed the President Rajaii and Prime Minister #Bahonar.
The attack was always a source of questionable circumstances and many people believed that it was the worl of #Rafaanjani and #Khamenei together with Ali #Rezai the head of IRGC back then who were involved in the McFarlane trip to Iran before the US election of 1980 that resulted in a deal between #US government (actually Republicans and Reagan) and IRI regime to delayethe release of the hostages who were planned to be released in early fall of 1980 in exchange for badly needed spare parts for Iranian #F-14 fighter jets and the code to unlock the air to air missiles #Phoenix that #Shah of Iran had purchased before the revolution and IRI could not use them because of inability to break the code.
Rejaii one of the deeply religious and a man of principals was 100% against the deal specially after he found out that most of the parts and weapons delivered to Iran were actually came from an unmarked ship from #Marseille that made a stop in Israeli port of #Haifa to load the weapons.
2 days before his death, #Rejaii made a famous speech that condemned those "naive individuals in the country who believed they could purchase weapons from an arh enemy of the nation in order to fight the little insignificant devil Saddam that Iran could easily deal with".
The deal have Reagan the landslide win over Carter who Khomeini hated more than anyone because he brokered a peace between Israel and Egypt and in his typical short sighted stupidity believed Reagan would be a friend of Iran in it's fight against the " pro Soviet #Saddam".
The rest is history and ww all know the sad and pathetic stupidity of #Khomeini and his closest inner circle gave the world a monster that setup the foundation to the shitty world we live in.
But for the stupid and ignorant followers of Khomeini, who never admitted that it was Israeli weapons and spare parts that turned the war around and let Iran almost destroy the entire Iraqi air force in series of attacks including one that goes to history as one of the longest direct hit of a French Mirage 1 (one of 3 that French government has lent to Saddam) from 150km distance using one of the $2.5M phoenix missiles.
So the last week's assassination brought "closer" to a 42 years old revenge against the puppet in the game of much more evil forces inside and outside IRI regime.
PS. Some say that #Macron's phone call with #Reisi was triggered by the #assassination in #Paris, buth both parties seems to have chosen not to talk about it in public.
