New article in #JCLS 4(1)! 🎉
@dudarjulia & @christof introduce a method for evaluating measures of #distinctiveness ( #keyness ) using synthetically generated, fully controlled text data.

Awesome! Our new paper in #DHQ has been published!
It discusses three measures of #keyness (or #distinctiveness) when applied to #subgenres of the #French #novel.
The twist is that we perform a #qualitative #evaluation of the measures by relating each list of keywords to a set of characteristics of each subgenre built from reading scholarly publications on the subgenres.
Bottom line: choosing a measure makes a huge difference!

@jcls Very interesting! I think we need to talk to Steffen, Katrin and Pstrick to get a clear version of this plot and analyse what needs most attention in our #pydistinto tool for #keyness analysis, from the #BeyondWords project.

Great presentation just now by @andreanini on the "Lambda G" approach to #authorship verification implemented in the #idiolect package for R: https://github.com/andreanini/idiolect
Very interesting not just for authorship attribution, but also for #keyness / distinctiveness analysis!

Very happy to be in #Montpellier today for a "journée d'étude" on the notion of #tupleization in the context of #cooccurrence, #keyness, #frequency and #dispersion. – The opening speaker is Stefan Th. Gries, and the full programme can be found here: https://corli.huma-num.fr/events/untangling-associations-advances-in-collocation-and-keyword-analysis/
